Each apartment is individually owned and furnished. I stayed in Apartment 3D, Deluxe Ocean View. We have stayed in this apartment previously. We like this room, it is on a lower floor, nicely furnished, quiet, with heavy blockout curtains. The room scored a 9 out 10. The reason for the 3 star review is owing to the booking process and hotel facilities. I have a fear of heights, and this hotel is 41 storeys high. As I mentioned I have stayed in 3D before and we wished to book this particular unit again as its nice and only on level 3. I booked direct with the Hotel (All Accor chain), but was told I could only put in a request for that room, I also added request for a room below level 10. I subsequently called the hotel a few days prior to arrival to enquire which room I was allocated, I was told that they would not tell me and that rooms are only allocated on the day, I said well can you confirm at least that I will not be higher than level 9, again I was told no we can't. When I mentioned my concern and fear of heights all I was told was "Well maybe you should consider cancelling the booking, and search alternatives", OMG. On check in luckily I was allocated the apartment I requested, but believe the hotel caused me unnecessary angst. There needs to be a process where returning guests can book a particular apartment, I could arrange my travel dates around the apartment availability. Also the hotel only had 1 of the 3 lifts operating during our 9 night stay. The hotel is 41 storeys high, this caused long wait times, with the lifts often full. I was also concerned there was no redundancy, if this lift broke down, hundreds of guests and residents would be stranded. The surrounds of the hotel were untidy and cluttered with construction.

I recently stayed here with my family and my daughters friend. The apartment was super spacious with enough room for us all to have some space. Loved how there was two bathrooms. The view was incredible. The pools were amazing especially for a night swim, but we couldn't figure out how to turn on the spa but the water was still nice and warm. The place was overall very spacious and clean. The staff were super friendly. Although the car park is tricky you can work it out. The spaces are decent sizes. One of the two lifts always seemed to be out of order and the lifts took forever to arrive and given we were on the 16th floor it was very impractical to walk up and down everytime we wanted to leave. This place is super ideally located right on the beach front so you can wake up and see the ocean and lovely views.

Ideally located and we had ocean view and beautiful sunsets to watch from the 30th floor. Very spacious apartment and well equipped. Free parking in secure car park under hotel. The only slight issue was the building work noise from behind the hotel which started up about 7am but otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Paid for a 'Deluxe Ocean View Room' and requested a south facing room. The room we got was a north facing city view with partial ocean view. We literally looked directly into the units of the Meriton apartments opposite our building, & over a noisy building site to the west. That towering Meriton highrise also blocked out all sunshine into our apartment, and we had zero privacy because of how close the buildings are. I queried why it's called 'Deluxe' as it definitely was not a deluxe ocean view and was told "because it's been renovated". However the room was disgusting. The renovations must have happened well over a decade ago. There was black mould in both bathrooms & chips out of the vanity & bath. We could barely see out of the windows in the apartment because they were covered in ocean salt and clearly never cleaned, along with the rest of the filth coating window frames. The walls throughout the apartment were damaged and no doors had door stops so if we had the windows open all the internal doors would slam shut allowing for zero breeze in the apartment. On the second night we were trapped in the building because the lifts would not work. We rang security who did not answer so we range the lift company who said there is someone on their way but it could take a few DAYS so we should just walk up & down the fire exit stairs....from level 27. Luckily the next morning one was working & luckily our car didn't have a parking fine as we were unable to get out to update the paid parking ticket. When the lifts were working, it was an extremely long wait. The building is being painted outside, which meant many amenities were out of use, which we did not find out about until after we'd booked non-refundable. The young girl I spoke to at reception showed zero interest or empathy, she genuinely could not have cared less. A few years ago I stayed at Imperial Surf and loved it. I'd been saving up to stay there again to spoil my family for SeaFire. I cannot believe how much it has changed for the worse. I felt I completely wasted my money on this stay and I will never stay there again. As a local Gold Coaster who has many staycays in Surfers, it's just so disappointing.
