Secrets Sunny Beach Resort and Spa - Premium All Inclusive - Adults Only

The hotel had opened one day before we arrived, but what a slick, polite, friendly and great week we had. The food choice was so wonderful, with themed evening menus, service even when very busy was exceptionally good. The location is excellent, we used local buses to visit Nessebar and nearby Sunny Beach area. I would recommend trying to get a local guide for Nessebar to soak up the history.

Check in was swift,staff very welcoming,we arrived at around midnight and we were informed that they had kept the restaurant open for us late arrivals,The lobby bar was open 24 hours a day as well as the cafe where you could get sandwiches and pastries etc. The rooms were huge and my wife remarked on the cleanliness not only of our room,but the whole hotel,to anyone who knows my wife that is not faint praise.Ive never seen such a large more comfortable bed,mini bar which had beers ,soft drinks and water which was replenished daily ,large sofa,2 chairs and a table.Telivision on the wall,we didn't use it so not sure what channels were available.There was a kettle together with mixed teas and coffee.There was ample good quality toiletries available including shampoo,conditioner ,body wash,body lotion and shower caps.A free safe was provided which was large enough for all your gadgets We ate all week at the buffet restaurant and were blown away with the quality and variety.My particular favourite was the Balkan night where we got to sample some local cuisine. We used the pool bar and were thoroughly entertained by the barman using a variety of unorthodox ways of depositing ice in a glass, didn't get his name but he was so friendly and one of the staff who really made our holiday The lobby bar was where we would while away the early and late evenings,all the staff were very friendly,special mention to Zlatina,who always had a smile no matter how long into her shift she was,thanks Zlatina for the Bulgarian language lessons. The entertainment lasted around 45 mins each night which we thought was perfect.It broke up that time between finishing dinner and having an evening nightcap.We particularly enjoyed the dance shows. To sum up ,We enjoyed this hotel so much we have booked to come back for 2 weeks in September to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary.If you are thinking about booking this hotel just do it ,you won't regret it.

Hotel itself was great clean and tidy food was good breakfast was just like being at home (Fried bread as well) What we found was there staff we’re miserable as sin and often looked tired yawning often during service Plenty of sunbeds and shades pools good as was beach was nice own private area

Poor choice, over cooked, warm ish.. . The à la cart restaurants were closed. Alcohol brand options were limited. Spa rooms cold, no relaxing music, poor atmosphere. We went to dreams and booked the massage treatments there. (Lots to choose from) Pros: Rooms are big, clean etc Indoor pool and facilities great. Gym good Went off peak so was nice and quiet, By far one of the better hotels in sunny beach. Staff are friendly Nice adult only vibe Suggestions: Improve food options, live cooking stations, more choice in meals, deserts etc Italian theme - no change in food. Pizza and paste was the same. Evening entertainment poor. Loud, poor singing. More alcohol options/ cocktail options.

Excellent impressions from this place. We had a breezy 2 weeks of complete comfort. The staff consists of young, relaxed, friendly, professional and efficient people that create a very light and lovely atmosphere. The whole place is maintained immaculately, the food was good and varied. Kudos for the freshly squeezed fruit juices in the morning, the full frame of raw honeycomb on the breakfast buffet on occasional mornings, quite good wines...The junior suit was very comfortable and the coffee machine was stocked with decaf pods as an option,which was great... I could only recommend this hotel

First visit to a RIU hotel, went there with high expectations and initially we weren’t disappointed. Hotel is beautiful, location and views are amazing and the accommodation couldn’t be faulted. For us however, that’s where the plus points finished. We visited two of restaurants on site, the main Black Sea restaurant and the Steakhouse restaurant. The food served in the Black Sea restaurant varied in quality on a daily basis, and there was a disappointingly limited selection of local foods available, however if you wanted chips with nearly every meal then happy days. One good point was the variety of salads available, the food served at lunchtimes in the Steakhouse restaurant was again patchy and the all inclusive element was leftovers served from the coffee bar in reception. The one evening meal we had in the Steakhouse restaurant was ok, nothing better than that, 3 courses with limited choice and served alarmingly quickly. Hotel was advertised as serving premium international drinks, first drink I asked for was Southern Comfort, this was met with blank faces. Selection of drinks was very poor, local spirits were served unless we insisted on a branded drink. The cocktails were made in a blender, not a cocktail shaker in sight and the amount of ice used in cocktails was mind boggling. My wife asked for a Martini Rossi on one occasion, the barman disappeared with an empty Martini Rossi bottle, reappeared with the same bottle just over half full and proceeded to pour my wife’s drink, turned out to be Port. On another occasion in the show bar, a member of staff cleared our table and asked if we’d like further drinks. We told him what drinks we wanted, he disappeared and we next saw him about 10 minutes later wondering around outside looking at his phone. Majority of staff were less than helpful, service was very slow unless they were clearing our table. Getting a drink refill was painful and done reluctantly. Staff also had a very unpleasant habit of hawking (clearing their throats) in earshot of diners, not a pleasant sound when you’re eating. Staff were constantly using their mobile phones in restaurant and bar areas, and one female member of bar staff was in the habit of sitting on the the actual bar in the pool. The swimming pools were incredibly inviting but unbelievably and disappointingly cold, including the jacuzzi. We braved the indoor pool on a couple occasions and waded through to the poolside bar but there were limited tables in the sun. Evening entertainment was limited to 2 evenings in a week, neither evening was great. Best entertainment was the thunderstorm on the Thursday night. We visited the neighbouring hotel for one evening, another RIU hotel. This was family friendly, the drinks were worse than RIH Palace and bingo was the entertainment. Also, the neighbouring hotel started playing ear splittingly loud music every day at 10am. We strolled into Sunny Beach on a couple of occasions, not somewhere I’d choose to spend a
