Hotel Izgrev Spa & Aquapark

A dream view around the hotel. The hotel is very welcoming, spacious and elegant rooms, the balcony offers a view of Lake Ohrid.Nice and hospitable staff.If the hotel would put a bottle of water in the rooms, it would be appreciated.Varied and tasty breakfast.

The rooms have not been cleaned every day and the towels have not been changed. On top of that the person at the reception, when I asked why they didn’t clean our room, answered: you should clean it by yourself. And this a 5 stars hotel??? At the shower we hardly had water pressure because the hose was torn. These are just a few of the problems we had there

We have just returned from an 11 night stay at the hotel as a family. Overall, our experience was very positive and the whole holiday exceeded our expectations and there is a lot to love about the hotel but it is let down by a few things. On the positive the hotel is in a beautiful location by the lake and the view from our room was stunning. The room itself was better than we had expected and it was great that as a family of three we all had a proper bed, our experience is often rooms have a sofa bed as the third bed. However, the room cleaning could be better, the beds were made and bins emptied everyday but it seemed like not much else. I dont think our sheets were changed at all, The breakfast was as expected with the usual choices, though strangely no toaster?! The water park is excellent, we all and in particular my daughter had a great time here. Ive seen other comments about lack of lifeguards and health and safety which while true didnt seem an issue. It did get busy with outside visitors in the afternoon but always found a sunbed. Our only complaint was about other selfish guests who kept the rings for the slides by their lounger or in the pool while children waited for one to go on slides. The staff did what they could to stop them but it was an issue. The lake itself was also lovely to sunbathe by and swim in. The main negative about the hotel was its lack of facilities/activity on an evening. It's isolated location mean there isnt really much within walking distance (there is a bar and a couple of restraunts but you cant walk back on a night) therefore the hotel really needs something on a night but we found the hotel lobby bar was shut for entire stay meaning you had to go to the resteraunt to get a drink and bring back, the pool and table tennis tables were also broken. This and the lack of entertainment meant the hotel seemed like a ghost town at night and so you had to get a taxi to town. A final strange and negative thing was that although there is a small shop on site it did not sell any drinks at all which i guess is to make you buy them from the bar but to not even sell larger bottles or even water is something i have never experienced before.

Absolutely perfect. Large and clean rooms and spacious balcony. Magnificent view overlooking Lake Ohrid. A buffet with many options. Delicious dinner service. You can swim with the fish in Lake Ohrid or have a great time in the pool. I stayed in this hotel for two nights and enjoyed it very much. I would like to thank all the staff, especially the housekeeping, restaurant and kitchen staff. I would easily recommend it to everyone.

Stayed at Hotel Izgrev with my wife and four year old son for a week. We had booked through TUI as Lake Ohrid really caught our eye and we have enjoyed previous holidays in the Balkans. We really cannot fault the hotel, we loved our stay there! We had upgraded our room to lake view (highly recommended) and our board to half-board. Our hotel room was perfect, it was two adjoining rooms so we had plenty of space including two bathrooms and two balcony areas with picture perfect views of the lake. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The food service was buffet style. Breakfast had selections of fruit and cereals, hot items, and cold items with water, juice, coffee and other hot drinks readily available. Evening service had soups, salads & other cold items, a hot selection and a good variety of desserts. Food quality was good. Our last evening we decided to eat from the ala carte menu to celebrate our anniversary, this had great choice and was good value, and delicious. A special thank you to the staff that made our anniversary wonderful. Now, the aqua park. Our son had seen the aqua park on a photo when we were booking the holiday and decided that’s where we were going. It did not disappoint. There are lots of sun beds around the pool and park. The aqua park is open to the public so it does get busy at peak days/times, we would usually get down for around 10am when it opened and had plenty beds to choose from. The slides are superb, there really is enough to keep everyone entertained there. Pool areas were clean, the pool bar was good and a nice spot to get some refreshment. The snack bar was handy if you got peckish in the afternoon and again, was great value. If you fancy something quieter than the aqua park, the hotel has a beach section on the shore of Lake Ohrid. It really is a beautiful and perfect place to relax. It’s much quieter than the aqua park and has a beach bar there for refreshment. You can also order from the snack bar menu, again wonderful if you’re peckish and want to satisfy your hunger with the incredible view. The staff at Hotel Izgrev were all friendly, warm and welcoming. The guys at the pool bar and beach bar were great fun, and the guys at dinner service were ever so friendly and helpful. Beyond the hotel there isn’t much in the area, the hotel can arrange taxis to Struga and Ohrid. There are a couple of monasteries/churches in the vicinity of the hotel on the lake shore that are worth seeing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Izgrev, I would recommend booking a lake view room as it is a stunning view.

I want to say that I enjoyed my vacation and would definitely recommend this hotel. At the beginning, too good and too kind staff, from the reception to the maid. The food in the restaurant is delicious, something for everyone. Waiters always smiling. The rooms were always clean and friendly. Excellent work to the staff at the reception, with an effort to make everything go well for us.
