Scandic Norra Bantorget

I almost always stay in a hotels for both christmas and new year and I stayed at the Scandic Norra Bantorget hotel in Stockholm this time on christmas eve. I had really prepared myself making the reservation actually months ahead and done extensive research and chosen the superior room with it's own sauna and I was very excited to stay in this hotel. Unfortunately it turned out to be a dissapointment as it probably is together with Scandic Talk the most old and dated Scandic hotel in Stockholm and the sauna didn't even work and had no working lamp light. The TV old and of course without Chromecast. There was a bath robe which was nice but was also dissapointed that despite this was a superior room and thus featuring FACE Stockholm beauty products, they too did not have the FACE Stockholm body lotion. The windows offered zilch view directly facing concrete wall within 1 meter distance and not even possible to see the sky and determine if it were night or day. Breakfast was really dissapointing too and it wasn't at all the usual classical Scandic signature grand buffet style of breakfast, just one small table with small selection of meatballs, yoghurts and bread, butter, cheese. This was probably because of christmas, but we were quite many hotel guests staying in the hotel even though it was christmas and I don't really see why the service must be limited and much worse just because of that it is christmas? I also had two Scandic vouchers from a previous stay in another Scandic hotel that I wished to use to order only two beers from the hotel lobby bar, but was declined as the bar and restaurant in hotel also was closed due to christmas. The location is good with the probably best Thai restaurant in Stockholm - Tjabba Thai - right next to the hotel, but it is somewhat distance walking all of Drottinggatan up the hill, some distance from any tube, bus and train station and the street could also be quite eerily and empty in evenings not pleasant to walk there alone. In all not at all value for money and not worth paying extra for the sauna room as it was non-functional and the room was very old and dated. Would definately not stay here again and bear in mind that there are so many other Scandic hotels nearby - almost 10 other in my opinion better choices.

It was my second stay at this hotel, previous could be rated 4.5-5.0 with really nice breakfasts. This time I received room 705 with window that wasn't fully functional. During the night I was woken up by low temperature in the room, turned out that one window has a 2 cm gap between window seal and frame. Tried to close it but didn't budge and when trying to open it, I could see wood layers disconnecting so I stopped afraid to not break it. It was fixed for me next day and it was a lot better. But still not cool experience after I came back there since last stay was nice. Would rate that one 1.5-2.0 out of 5 so overall experience is around 3/5.

PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY AND HOSPITABLE STAFF ALWAYS WILLING TO ASSIST EVEN IN THE MOST DIFFICUKLT CIRCUMSTANCES. HOTEL IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE AND LOCATION IS Very strategic location, being close to shopping centers, restaurants and entertainment centers. There is need for infrastructural improvement for modernization. Establishment of an entertainment area be it a wine bar for both guests and the public will make the hotel lively and less boring.

The hotel is very nice and is located very close to the city centre and the central station. The staff is very nice and friendly and the rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast is good and there is a variety of different food offered.

Breakfast was great, room could be cleaner, massive stain on the curtain. Not sure how this could possibly be missed. Staff were pleasant to deal with. Location perfect. However I do not think I will stay here again for my next trip to Stockholm.

I stayed in this hotel for One Night. When I first arrived, I was given a room where the electricity did not work. I was changed to a different room and it was bigger too. The room was big, but the furniture has seen better days. The room looks like a time capsyle from the 1990s, absolutely needs an update. The bed seemed to have issues, weird noises while laying there. Bathroom was big and spacious, but the furniture totally in tatters. The breakfast was Good, but I think it is presented in a craped space. Would have liked a bigger buffet area. The hotel is nicely situated Close to Drottninggatan and Hötorget
