Greenwoods Hotel & Spa

A really great early Mother’s Day lunch at Ellis’ Restaurant, we come often & always love it. We treated Mum to a massage and facial, they use Elemis in the spa & the facilities are very clean and luxurious. We always come away feeling very well looked after. Thanks everyone at Greenwoods!

We attended Greenwoods spa for an afternoon Tea which was a wedding gift. The afternoon tea itself was absolutely delicious and would definitely recommend their food. However, service on the day wasn't fantastic. Trying to catch the attention of passing staff was difficult and we seemed to be one of the only tables they didn't come and see if we were ok despite only have 3/4 tables occupied. Even tried to grab them as they attended the table next to us but they didn't look round / hear us. Eventually managed to order a couple of extra drinks. Glass of wine came in a really dirty glass, surprised this wasn't seen by the bartender but it happens and understand that. I took the wine back to the bar and asked for it to be changed which they agreed to immediately. He apologised for the dirty glass and then checked the next one was clean which it was. He then picked up the original wine and was literally about to pour from the dirty glass into the clean but paused and looked up and me and said "oh sorry would you prefer a fresh one" to which of course my answer was "yes please" They gave me another glass of wine with no issue whatsoever but the fact they even considered pouring it from o glass to another is concerning and without a doubt would have happened had I not been standing there. Maybe it was because it wasn't busy and therefore less staff around but would give it another go for sure because the food is worth it.

I enquired about holding my Wedding reception at this hotel. I was promised details etc by email, they weren’t sent. We arrived for our appointment and was asked to sit in reception where a laundry basket of stinking towels was overflowing from the people exiting the gym …. Nice, my wedding guests would be very impressed ( not), We were shown to a dirty room and was made to stand throughout the appointment whilst a hotel employee showed us a brochure bent over a trestle table???? We were then shoved out of what looked like a tradesman’s back door and told we would receive our quote either the same day or at the very worse the next day … 3 days later and I’m still waiting for the quote …. disgraceful A Hotel that wants to charge top prices you need to take note and up your game. Oh, and don’t worry about the quote ~ we are going elsewhere

Just spent a fabulous weekend at Greenwoods with my daughter and her husband to be plus our prospective in laws We had such a fun weekend The weekend was used as prelude to my daughter’s wedding that we subsequently booked for later this year. The wedding team at Greenwoods have been so attentive and so brilliantly organised. Everything has been sorted and we are all so excited. The banqueting hall and setting overlooking such beautiful gardens will be stunning. We have booked out all of the 40 rooms for the weekend of the wedding. So that our families travelling from the USA and Portugal can all stay. First class service from Greenwoods team And fabulous hotel for such a special occasion

Awful spa break. More like a leisure center, noisy, no sunbeds available, all pushed next to each other so basically on each others lap if did find one. sauna was about 10 degrees. Room was nice apart from the short curly hair's in bathroom and broken shower. Food in evening was very good but would not recommend considering price paid and additional £100 for a Saturday.

We recently attended a 21st birthday party here and had a wonderful experience. The grounds are beautifully kept, providing a lovely setting for the occasion, and the location in the village really added to the atmosphere - peaceful, welcoming, and full of life! We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who couldn’t have been more helpful, even assisting us with our luggage when we arrived. The bar and reception staff were all lovely and extremely helpful. It made the whole experience feel even more personal and enjoyable. Will be returning soon with friends and be recommending to friends and family!
