It is extraordinary to see the cows out of the window and, of course, the beautiful landscape.
The cottage owner Jon is friendly, and Hillview Cottage is a decent place to stay overnight.

We booked Hillview Cottage so we would be near to Stirling for the All Under One Banner march for independence. Jon was the perfect host and he kindly gave us a lift into Stirling on Saturday . We were extremely happy with our room which was clean and comfortable. Jon has many interesting art works and the lovely breakfasts each morning set us up for the day ahead. We will definitely stay at Hillview Cottage if we are in the Stirling area again. G &T

We booked a double bedroom in June 2023 and stayed for about 10 minutes before leaving. On first impression, we were shocked by how untidy and dirty the house was. While we weren’t expecting luxury for the amount we were paying, the bedsheets and surfaces were dusty and the house covered with cobwebs and clutter. The host gave us the wrong room before giving our room (which was slightly cheaper) to another couple who checked in just after us. He then informed us that we would need to pay extra for the “room upgrade” that we didn’t ask for nor need. Upon request the host gave us the WiFi password however when I queried him on why it wasn’t working he informed us that the network was down in the entire region. Once we checked into our new accommodation we found that this was untrue. WiFi was important to us as we needed to contact our family in Australia. The host made us both feel very uncomfortable and we are grateful that we found a lovely room at the Crieff Hydro. In hindsight we wish we had read some of the other reviews online which validated our experience regarding the cleanliness and overall vibe of the host. In our opinion, Hillview is substandard and should not be open to the public.

A lovely homely B & B cottage , friendly ambience and welcoming party from Jon & one of his many dogs . Jon is knowledgeable and helpful , breakfast was on time & great service . The room we had was tartan , comfortable with a lovely view of the cows in the field . I would highly recommend Hillview Cottage and my hubby and I would gladly go back for another break . Well worth the money , great access to many cities & Scottish history in sterling with a wonderful monument of Robert Bruce .
