Very nice remodel overall — tasteful, quality build all around. The hotel is stately but charming and the architecture is beautiful. The PS school colors and stories abound in so many unexpected places! Location is perfect for exploring everything that the college downtown and campus have to offer. Valet was not really worth it. Our visit had one person working (granted, it was a few days before Christmas, but still...). Did double duty: parking and bell-hop, which rarely works well for when multiple cars arrive at the same time. Departing was worse, with no attendant in sight. A ten-minute wait and we were at the front desk asking for our car. To their credit, they didn't charge us for valet parking, so props there. Our room was quite nice, with a great view out front (King Jr Suite). However, the heating / cooling unit is a beast of a sound-maker. It was so bad, we turned off the unit so we could sleep. It looks like this is a common complaint from others and should be addressed. For such an extensive remodel, it's a strange oversight. Lastly, there are three places for food and drink in the hotel, which on its face is very nice: an upscale sit-down restaurant, a bar/restaurant, and a morning café. We chose to eat diner in town when we arrived, to explore and get some college town culture, but were disappointed to find out that just the café served breakfast (and limited at that). There really needs to be a morning breakfast served in one or both restaurants for a near-luxury hotel. All in all, a decent stay that fell short of expectations. Hopefully, ownership/management will address what appear to be quite fixable issues going forward.
