Trees were cut down and milled to build this grain bin in the early 80's. Currently its a tiny home getaway, with a modern rustic interior, wrap around porch, and fire pit. In the late 1830's the Hildebrand-Beck Mill was being built, right across the street from our property, along the creek. It was one of the oldest working mills in the U.S. During the civil war, federal troops occupied this land. After the war, in 1872 Ezekial Proctor accidentally shot Pauline Hildebrand and touched off a feud that resulted in an shootout at the Goingsnake Court House. The threads of the tapestry of history have woven in and out on this quiet setting on Flint Creek. this particular cabin has a loft, that you will need to go upstairs to get to.
