The Tabor House was constructed around 1895 and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.  It has all the charm of a Victorian style home with modern amenities and located just two short blocks from downtown Wallace, Idaho.Although the home is not ADA compliant, there are only three short steps to enter the front of the home with a main floor bedroom. The second and third floors are accessible by stairways.THE MAIN FLOOR-has 1 bedroom with a king-sized bed and 37" flat screen TV with Roku. A USB rapid charger is located on the wall facing the backyard. The living room has a cozy gas fireplace with remote, a 50" flat screen with Roku and Netflix, a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, games, puzzles and a book exchange. A Wii game console is located next to the DVD for family gaming. A Shuffleboard table is now located in the dining room. A CD Jukebox with free play is located in the living room.There is a spacious and well supplied eat in kitchen with microwave, glass top range, dishwasher, and full size fridge/freezer with ice maker. There is a large formal dining room, full bath, washer, dryer and gas BBQ (located on the backyard patio area).  Just inside the back door entrance is a mud room to put your skis and boots. There is also a radio flyer wagon to pull the kids around town or to get groceries as well as bikes to ride. There is ample parking on the street. Additional covered parking for your motorcycles, ATVs, bicycles, vehicle, etc. can be found at the rear of the residence.We hope you will enjoy the beautiful front porch (our personal favorite).  Wave to the visitors on the trolley as it goes by or if you are lucky, watch the elk or moose traipse through town. THE SECOND FLOOR-offers 3 more bedrooms and a full bathroom.  Two rooms have queen-sized beds and one room has a double/full.  There are flat screen TVs (32") in all the bedrooms also with  Roku, and lots of closet space. These rooms also have USB rapid chargers located along the wall which are labeled for identification. THE THIRD FLOOR-Or attic has recently been finished with new carpet, drywall, paint, windows. Because we are big on safety, we installed emergency exit (egress) windows.There is also an emergency escape ladder located in a silver plastic storage container in the room. We like to think of this floor as great for the youth in your group as it has 4 single beds in private alcoves (thanks to the gabled ceiling), a bubble hockey machine, 32" flat screen with Roku, and a classic Nintendo console (remember those?) with games for their enjoyment.   This of course does not mean that adults would not find this area fun also!There are five security cameras located at the front, rear and side of the residence. The cameras are live and recording.We accept pets up to 50lbs with a limit of 2 furry family members. There is a one-time fee of $25.00. This stunning cabin is the perfect escape from a couple’s getaway to a large family gathering, we have room for everyone! The cabin faces the river so you can enjoy your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the river. You might even be lucky enough to see the deer, elk, moose and eagles that frequent the area!Located 20 minutes from St. Maries, 5 miles to Calder and 35 miles to Avery there is endless access to outdoor actives for every season.The St. Joe River offers activities for everyone! Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, floating, ATV/snowmobiling, the list goes on and on. Anglers will love staying here, the St. Joe is known for its world class fly fishing for cutthroat. Get a group together to float the river! There are several locations both up and down river to float from. There is even a float tube/kayak launch just across from the cabin at the Cutthroat Resort. For the hiker in the group there are hundreds of miles of trails to access as well as several high mountain lakes in the area. For the sportsman, we offer a cooler to dress and hang your game. The main cabin sleeps 7. There is also a detached bunk house equipped with 2 queen beds, microwave, coffee pot, heater and fan that could sleep 4 more. Lastly, there is 30-amp service available for an RV. (Additional RV available for rent at the Cutthroat Resort). There is ample room to park so feel free to bring your ATV or snowmobiles and take off right from the cabin on the numerous trail and logging roads.You will love how easy you can get to the cabin, located about 90 minutes from the Spokane/Coeur d’ Alene area makes it the perfect weekend getaway when you just need to “unplug” (WiFi available, no land line or cell service at the cabin). Jet up Friday evening and leave Monday in time to make it to work feeling revived! Nothing soothes the soul like sitting around a campfire watching the stars. If you are out for a walk along the east side of the property you will notice the caves. We have been told those are old mineshafts! Please admire from a distance and stay out due to falling rock. Mullan ID is a small, quiet mining town, with a local pub, The Outlaw Bar and Grill, bowling alley, and indoor swimming pool. For more options, nearby Wallace offers a grocery store, boutique shops, and restaurants/bars.Located in the center of town, Ursa Miner is small but bright and charming! Ten-foot high ceilings and an open living room-dining room layout make this cozy, older home feel spacious. The front living room gets tons of natural light. The back sunporch/coffee nook has views of the mountains. The entryway to the front door and covered back porch allow guests to easily come in and out of the weather. The property is located on a main road in town, but this is a one-stop light town! Street noise is minimal during the day and quiet at night.Two bedrooms are on the main level and additional twin beds are in the upstairs loft. The loft has a lower ceiling, which makes it ideal for younger guests. Beds offer supportive mattresses, layers of quilts (depending on the season), high quality sheets, and poly-down pillows; extra blankets and pillows are available.The main level bathroom has a claw-footed tub/shower, toilet and sink. The original medicine cabinet has a unique feature - a razor blade disposal slot. We kindly request that guests not use it for disposal of anything :) Shampoo, body wash, basic first aid supplies, and towels are providedFree wi-fi is available throughout the house. A smart speaker and device charging station is centrally located in the dining room. Smart TV in the main living room, as well as upstairs, allows for guests to spend time relaxing and spread out, if desired. Roku is setup for guests to use their own accounts for streaming services, or access many free options. The living room TV also has a DVR player. Board and card games and videos are available for guest enjoyment.The well-equipped kitchen includes a double-oven and convection cooktop, full sized fridge, microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans, baking and serving dishes, cooking utensils, cups/glasses and table settings for +6 guests. A small dishwasher with hookups to the sink make clean up a breeze. A supply of coffee and filters, some cooking oil, salt/pepper/spices/herbs is provided for guests. Supplies for tidying up are stocked: paper towels, multi-purpose cleaner, dish soap, hand soap, and dishwasher tablets.Guests have use of the entire house, the yard, grill (available seasonally), and a small, locked storage shed. Guests may park in the gravel driveway at the back of the house or on the side street. The small bridge near the house, which crosses the South Fork of the Coeur D'Alene River, is currently closed to vehicle traffic. It is open to pedestrians and bikes.Ursa Miner is a one-hundred year old home. It was restored around 2016, after sitting vacant for many years. Our hope is to be good stewards, to maintain and update the structure as needed, and share its historic charm and ideal location with others for years to come. It has some quirks, like a slight slant in the floor and an air vent in the ceiling between the dining room and loft. The house is heated through an air vent in the dining room floor; this vent may be hot to the touch when the furnace is running. Parents with infants/toddlers are advised to be cautious; please supervise children at all times. The house has no closets other than one small space in the upstairs bedroom/loft. Guests should feel free to unpack luggage and store clothing in the bedroom dressers. The kitchen floor can be chilly during frigid weather; a basket of house slippers/socks is near the front door. Guests are welcome to wear these in the house and leave with the used linens/towels prior to check-out.Locally, the nearby Mullan Trail Gas & Grocery has essentials and grocery items. Check their FB page for local happenings, like trail grooming updates, weather notices (avalanche warning), and community events. Harvest Foods in Wallace is well-stocked with whatever you need: fresh produce, meats, convenience foods/snacks, specialty items (gluten free), beer/cider/wine/liquor, and a small pharmacy (find your huckleberry treats here!).We want Ursa Miner to be your comfortable, home away from home.
