I spent 2 night at Ilonga lodge. I did my check in just before 5pm. It was supposed to be the end of the loadshedding stage, but it seems that the whole town was without power. I want out hopping that it would have been solved when back, but no... I prepared myself to go to bed, but when I was about to rince my teeth, no water... I had to use my bottled sparkling water to rince... When I woke up in the morning, still no electricity, nor water... I had to leave for the day, hoping that when I am back , the issue would be sorted. Back at 5pm, still no electricity - but water was back... Very upset, I went to the lady asking for my kettle to be boiled. You can hear the generator, but you are not the one who benefit from it... I had a shower - but cold... Thanks for the cold shower in July! Another night without being able to charge my phones, watch TV if I wanted, get free wifi, or just read a book with normal lighting... Halleluya!, When I woke up the second morning, there was power and water... I could finally have a hot shower - only a few hours before to check out... It was worse than camping... I must say the the bedding is very nice, and the breakfast options are diverse and good. They are also flexible for those who have to be away during the breakfast slots. Disapointed, but maybe it was just bad luck...
