Stone Mill Inn

This is a massive complex of a hotel, restaurant (Johnny Rocco's Italian Grill is great!!!) and assorted businesses which has been wonderfully restored from an old derelict factory by local business people. It is a wonderful addition to St. Catharines and needs to be visited, just to see the hotel's spectacular lobby staircase which was coped from the movie TITANIC.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights for a Niagara getaway. We didn't want something in the heart of Niagara Falls, and we came across this gem of a property in St. Catharines. The hotel is as it says...an Old Stone Mill Inn. The rooms are beautifully appointed. Very comfortable beds...clean bathrooms...very tasteful decor. Front desk reception was excellent. Please note the front desk is not manned 24 hours...usually from 8am to 7pm...but if you need help they leave you a cell number to call. Great restaurant on property of which the food was also excellent. For proximity to the Falls? We left the Falls after the fireworks, and after a 10 minute walk back up Clifton Hill, we were back at the hotel a total of 25 minutes (including the walk) from the end of the fireworks. Niagara on the Lake is an easy 15 - 20 minute drive from the hotel. We will definitely stay again.

Quaint Hotel. Had a castle feel, which made the rooms a bit on the dark side. The walls are thick (about 24" deep window well. This hotel is in somewhat of a commercial area, so views, well there are none. We were on the 3rd floor & ours looked out onto the roof & A/C units of the attached business. Rooms were clean & well supplied. Liked that there was a mini refrig, coffee maker & microwave. Somewhat disappointed that there was no pool or activities , but we're in Niagara Falls, so plenty to see there. There is a restaurant within (Jonny Rocco's) the hotel. Food was quite good & plentiful.

Love Stone Milll! We had the jacuzzi suit and we absolutely loved it! The room was so comfy and cozy. We loved the natural brick in the room and the jacuzzi tub was so clean and perfect for our romantic bday getaway. The hotel is very intimate and has a really nice ambience. Ice is complimentary on site and you also get two waters included in your fridge...nice touch. Family and friendly feel for sure. Lots of restaurants, corner stores and a LCBO close by, perfect if u dnt drive. We will definitely be back! Shout out to Johnny Rocco's which is attached, amazing food and people that work there.

We booked a king suite and got a double bed. Not a Queen No apology, just a refund of $23. Please provide bar soap for $185. The TV has few stations . Best of all I slept under the gale force wind of the room air conditioning. I am now sick. Thank you.

BED BUGS: I booked a stay at the Stone Mill Inn on May 2, 2024. It's a lovely hotel, and I chose it specifically for its great reputation and reviews. The staff were professional and friendly and after a very long day of travel, I was looking forward to getting checked-in / settled into my room (# 206) for a relaxing evening. Unfortunately within 5 minutes of getting in the room, I found bed bugs in the bed, as well as on the walls (I took videos). I called the front desk immediately to inform them and they were shocked but very understanding. I asked to check out of the hotel completely and they were kind and apologetic and refunded my room amount without question. I don't normally post reviews, but it's important for travelers to be aware of these situations. I originally did not find any bed bug reviews online for the Stone Mill Inn, which is also one of the reasons I chose it. But it goes to show that the quality of the hotel doesn't always matter. Any hotel can have bed bugs and once they're inside, they can become a major, long-lasting problem. I want to reiterate that overall, the hotel appears clean and lovely and the staff were very nice and professional. I wish I'd had a better experience there, however I will not return because of it. For this reason only, I've given it a lower star rating. That said, with such a good reputation, I have no doubt that management will make every effort to address the issue, if they haven't already.

thoroughly enjoyed our stay! have been here before and will definitely be back. immaculately clean facility. rooms are spacious and very clean. overall exceptional experience. have recommended this place to friends and family. walking distance to shops and restaurants and short trip to wineries

The facilities were very nice, the food was great, the serving staff were very friendly, the room was clean and nicely decorated and the bed was incredibly comfortable. In general, I highly recommend staying here. However, if you do, be sure to request that your room be NOWHERE near room 220. this room is at the end of a hallway and right beside where the after party clean up happens. although the staff were just doing their jobs, at midnight or 1 am when they are cleaning up the dishes, tables and chairs, it is extremely noisy. it wasn't quiet until well after 1:30. My biggest complaint however, is the lack of response from management. I mentioned it to the person who came to the front desk in the morning as i was leaving, they said they would pass it on to management. i never heard back. Then i sent a message on their website...no response. I sent a follow-up, still no response. Perhaps this will grab their attention...perhaps not.

Absolutely fabulous place! Old mill has been completely restored/renovated and upgraded. I'd give it more than the three stars it claims. Modern decor and ambience. We had a King room and it was HUGE. And high, high ceilings. Nice and fresh, well-maintained, clean and quiet. Front desk/guest services was really good. Picked up some extra coffee there for the Keurig in the room. We got a package that included $30 certificate for the on-site resto (that was superb ... see separate review on that), plus a bot of wine and continental breakfast that was already in the fridge for morning. And it was perfect! As often happens, had trouble getting the TV working ... so guest services came straight up to the room in just a couple of minutes after my call and fixed it. Free parking. Easy to find right off Glendale and 406. When we need a place to stay in Niagara you can be sure this will be it!!!
