Avid Hotel Memphis - Southaven

I stayed at this hotel with my daughter last weekend 7/29. We were really tired when we arrived and went straight to bed. The next morning I realized some major issues and talked to the front office about it. I even sent videos and pictures to the Custodial manager that was on duty. She was very apologetic & so was the lady working the front desk. But when the manager, I think his name was Corey, came out…. HIS ATTITUDE WAS HORRIBLE. As a matter of fact, I didn’t know he was the manager earlier when I saw him walked in, but when I said “Good Morning” he just kept walking. So maybe he was having a bad day.. REGARDLESS, that’s not my fault. He offered to give me some points, but for the issue I had, that just didn’t suffice at all!! He made no efforts to do anything else even after I expressed the fact that I wasn’t pleased. And I said it in a nice way, but I received Nothing but a BAD ATTITUDE in return!! I’m not sharing the video on here, only because the Breakfast Lady was outstanding.. and the front desk worker was a sweetheart….. But that manager was the WORST 👎🏾

This hotel is fantastic value. It is exceptionally clean. Although there is not a coffee machine in the room coffee is available 24 hours a day. For a free breakfast the breakfast was decent - yogurt, fruit, bagels, etc. You definitely need to have a car for this location. There is no sidewalk on the small road the hotel is located in.

The hotel was excellent in accommodations and service. The fresh fragrance invites you to come in as you enter the doors. The front desk attendant Shakena and the breakfast host Glenda were extremely hospitable and provided excellent service. The Avid is very clean and the bed/ bedding is comfortable. Overall excellent experience. Will for sure visit again in the near future.

We had our first stay at an Avid Hotel and the room was really nice and clean. We liked the shower instead of a tub! Front desk and breakfast personnel were very friendly and helpful. The location was just right for our trip and added to our enjoyment

We only stayed one night while passing through. Very comfortable and clean. Hard surface in room not as comfy, but certainly better for cleanliness and odor than carpet. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. Reasonable price. We would stay there again.

Staff was friendly. The room was very comfortable, clean and well laid out. Wifi connection was good. Check in and out went smoothly. The breakfast in the morning was good and offered a good selection of choices. A great stop during a long trip.

After seeing reviews of how clean and quiet this hotel was, I decided to try it knowing full well that the rooms were smaller than normal. The lobby looked a lot like the Hilton Home2 Suites. That is where the similarities end. The only ice machine had a sign on it that it wasn't working. I just read a recent review where someone else also mentioned the ice machine was broken. The room was much smaller than expected. The chair for the desk looks like kids furniture. The only other option for someone else to sit at the desk (to eat our takeout) is a shallow bench on the right side of the desk which does not work if you're right handed and keep bumping the wall with your elbow. There was a fridge and fortunately it was cold. It looked like an afterthought, kinda beat up looking and just sitting on the floor next to a built-in bench. We found a huge hair ball on the floor right next to the bed. Not sure how that was missed. There was a stain on the sheets which should have been noticed when making up the bed. As for how quiet the room is, we could clearly hear another guest repeatedly trying to figure out their locks. Their door is maybe 5' away from ours. Traffic noise as well as flight path noise could easily be heard when the A/C fan wasn't running. You definitely get what you pay for and I won't make this mistake again.

Shakena, & Glenda were the best they were very professional and nice when I check in Shakena was so nice I would Rate both of them a A+ I would rate my entire stay an A+ because I felt safe and very welcomed at AVID Hotel. I would definitely stay again!

Excellent stay! Loved the staff, especially in the morning. Glenda and Shakena greeted us and were so friendly and helpful at breakfast. Comfortable room. Good a/c. Quiet. Safe location. Great hot breakfast options. Will definitely stay again.
