酒店房間很小，不像國內酒店一樣，性價比很差，兩個白人女前台有種族歧視，房間似乎有監控，衹要房間白天有第三人出現就會很快來電話叫我們讓第三人退出房間！

就是比較好的民宿，説實話欣賞不來。 一個樓裏一間房，樓下是餐廳。

羅萊夏朵的酒店，但是定的時候衹有這個房間了，沒想到這麼小，有條件的還是定大點的吧，住着舒服，酒店樓下有米其林餐廳。

Beautiful location, lovely rooms, and excellent food at two onsite restaurants, including Michelin-rated "Source". The staff is very attentive and seeks to meet your every need.

We chose to stay at The Gilpin Lake House for our wedding anniversary. After driving for a couple of hours we found the main hotel and were then provided directions to get to the Lake House, a 6 min drive down a country lane. Through the automatic iron gates, then around to the lake house. This used to be a family house and has been converted into a luxury boutique hotel. On arrival we were greeted warmly and professionally from a member of the team. We sat in the lounge and had a sandwich and drink from the bar whilst we waited for our room. Afternoon tea was also being served in the small dining room. All rooms had a great view of the serene private lake. We were then informed that we had been given an upgrade to one of the Lake House Spa Suites. We were shown to our room, just 50 yards away from reception. It was a magnificent open plan space, with a huge balcony overlooking the private lake. The room had its own sauna, steam room and hot tub. Fantastic. (The shared hot tubs at the hotel are booked out in slots so you don’t have to share with other guests, which we don’t enjoy) There are several places to chill out in the grounds along with a boat house to chill out in whilst looking out across the lake. There are also two rowing boats if you fancy having a row on the lake.. We had dinner at the Spice restaurant as we didn’t want the Michelin star tasting menu. Food and service were excellent. After dinner we had a drink in the hotel bar. There is a complimentary private Porsche with a driver to get you from the lake house to the restaurant and back. Breakfast in the small dining room was fantastic, full a la carte menu to choose from. Really enjoyable. We’ve stayed at many 5 star hotels and this was quite different from the modern city hotels. It was fabulous and an utterly peaceful and relaxing stay. Highly recommend this if you just want to get away from the rat race! .

From the moment we arrived at the Gilpin Hotel, we knew we were in for something special but we never could have anticipated just how incredible our stay would be. A huge thank you to Emma at reception for the warmest of welcomes and for the welcome call just before we arrived, to Rob for looking after us so attentively, and to Tom, the Maltese manager, whose hospitality was second to none. We were staying there because we were doing the Ultra Challenge, and the entire team made sure we were not only looked after but truly pampered. Nothing was too much trouble, and they made us feel genuinely special throughout our time there. We also had the pleasure of dining at Gilpin Spice, and the food was absolutely outstanding a real highlight of the trip. Every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully presented; a true culinary treat that we won’t soon forget. The spa facilities were just the cherry on top, a perfect place to unwind and recover after the challenge. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our stay so memorable. We would not hesitate for a second to recommend the Gilpin Hotel and all of its incredible staff. We can’t wait to return.

Quality of food is outstanding, choice very good. Dishes are original and unusual. Kitchen is right in the restaurant but not noisy. Staff very polite and helpful.

Even though the staff are great especially Brian and the views are beautiful the lake house is significantly over priced for what you get and bizarre and weird. The Internet does not work in the Beatrice room except in a small part of the main bed, the second bed is fit for anyone shorter then 5 foot 7 as anyone taller can’t fit in, the checkout time is 10:30am which is bizarre when checkin is 2pm and because the hotel is saving money and has 2 staff and one chef at breakfast it takes about 1 hour for starters to be served, you’re in the middle of nowhere and if you don’t have a car you are limited in what you can do in the beautiful Lake District and when we called to ask if they could book a taxi while at the ferry wharf despite being disabled and in our 80s they said we would need to book it ourselves. There is also a £46.20 discretionary service fee on all reservations and not too sure what it’s for. Shame because the staff really do their best and the Lake District is a must see but the hotel is truly bizarre and weird and indicative of less than an Ibis or Formula One at Burj Al Arab prices.

Having stayed before. We arrived on 24 June and were met and warmly welcomed at the car park then taken to reception, and then our room. Which was again well appointed refreshing and relaxing. At the bar we were warmly welcomed and supplied with our drinks. We booked the Spice restaurant on the 24th and the Sauce restaurant on the 25th. "The Spice". Was above great it was fantastic, the staff were, friendly, happy, professional and knowledgeable about all the food and gave us much needed advice on the menus', The Chefs created what we can only describe as Micheline standard. We have been to many hotels in England, Europe and over seas. Never have we come across ALL staff who were happy, helpful, very friendly and professional. They all cared about what they did and what customers needs were. all we can say is an exceptional hotel.

Stayed in Gilpin in March as part of a conference - such an incredible experience. Our room and service were impeccable. We had 3 fantastic meals across each of the restaurants - Source & Spice. The Michelin star quality is evident through Gilpin. We loved our farewell lunch in Spice - super tasty, vibrant & fun

We were in the area scouting hotels for a visit Autumn/Winter this year. Had a quick tour and relaxed with a coffee in the very comfortable lounge. My wife and I have travelled extensively, all around the globe, and we pay close attention to how the staff deal with customers. We met Grace and if we had a Hotel - we would employ her. Excellent customer service skills. We are planning a visit for November/December as a result of our experience. Keep doing what you’re doing because it works !

We had a five night stay here in June 2025, in a “garden suite” room called Haystacks. Gilpin Lodge is a couple of miles from Lake Windermere and its thirty rooms are spread out over a hillside, with pretty gardens and a paddock with alpacas, llamas and a trio of pet pigs. The Haystack room is in a small block of half a dozen rooms, each with a little terrace and hot tub and a shared sauna. The room was large with a particularly big bathroom, with a walk in shower as well as separate bath. There was WiFi which I measured at 37 Mbps download and 40 Mbps upload, perfectly adequate for normal usage. By the way, there is a separate accommodation called the Lake House, 2km away and with eight bedrooms, its own dedicated swimming pool and a lake set in a hundred acres of grounds. The main hotel has two restaurants: Spice is a pan Asian casual restaurant set in a stone building on the hillside, and Source is a Michelin starred restaurant in the main building. Source doubles in the morning as the breakfast venue. Breakfasts are made to order and were very good, featuring for example exceptionally high quality sausages. The staff that we encountered were lovely, helpful and friendly. If you have mobility issues then bear in mind that the hotel buildings are spread out and on a slope, but there is a hotel buggy service offered to whisk you between your room and the main buildings. All the staff were excellent, but Charlotte in particular was superb.

I can honestly say that the service at this hotel is one of the best experiences I have had. I travel a lot and stay in some fabulous places, but the staff in this hotel are second-to-none. The people at both restaurants were attentive and efficient with a perfect balance of timing and service and the rest of the people I spoke to from reception staff to bar staff to the people in the spa, the drivers and the grounds men - all of them were super helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for me. Special thanks to Dave and Dug who took care of me, and to Conor for our Strawberry Moon search mission! Well done everyone - I will absolutely be back!
