The Olde Barn, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

I was really not feeling very well and went into the breakfast room to get myself something to eat. A server called Jane was so lovely to me. She got me ice water for my room and asked me if I needed anything to let her know. So thankful for her being so kind to me when I feel unwell and I'm away from home.

While the hotel and spa had its enjoyable moments, there were a few issues that impacted our stay. We had to wait a long time to use the leisure facilities, especially the pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately, some of the leisure center members were rude. One older lady was particularly unpleasant, pushing us in the pool and making mean comments, despite having plenty of space. It was uncomfortable and frustrating. There should be time limits for the pool and jacuzzi to ensure everyone gets a chance to use them, as we barely had any time because others stayed in for so long. Additionally, it felt like this hotel and spa catered more to an older crowd. My family and I are in our 20s, and we received some uncomfortable looks from several guests, though a few were lovely. This made the experience less relaxing and welcoming than we had hoped. A more inclusive environment would go a long way in improving the experience for younger guests like us. While my stay had some positive aspects, there were several disappointments that left me feeling unsatisfied. The dinner was quite bland, and although the breakfast was decent, it also lacked flavor. On top of that, my sister and brother didn’t even receive their desserts during dinner, and there was no one around to ask for assistance or to bring them out, which was frustrating. One highlight, however, was the massage therapist—she was incredible and gave me the best massage I’ve ever had. It was a truly relaxing experience, and I was impressed by her skills. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will return. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable, with many of the guests being quite rude. This was especially true for the members at the leisure facility, which made the experience unpleasant. I expected a more welcoming environment, but it didn’t feel that way for me and my family.

Booked a one night stay for my husband's birthday. Unfortunately with the weather being so poor, rang to ask if we could have an early check in, thought we could take advantage of spa facilities, and was told we could but would cost an additional £25. Declined and found something else to do, arrived at 2pm to be reminded check in at 3pm, our room wasn't ready. Went back for check in time and told room still wasn't ready, and again at 3.20pm. Felt like because we hadn't paid the £25 we were being penalised as other people were being given rooms... told our room was still not ready and was told they were doing the rooms in that corridor, cancelled and was given a refund but spoilt my husbands birthday. Unfortunate as we've stayed at Best Western in Lamphey and they are brilliant.

We held another annual Reunion at the hotel which hope to return to in the future. The hotel rooms were very clean and neat while the service throughout while the restaurant and function room,"The Newton Suite" was very efficient and most helpful. The location was ideal as members came in from the north and south on the A1. Three members deserve a mention Jane who I organised the event through Jane who was very helpful in the resturant and Abbie who organised the layout in the function room.

Enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel which is situated in a nice quiet area, parts of the hotel could do with an upgrade but this did not affect our stay, room was clean and well equipped, food was very good especially the breakfast which was plentiful, lots to choose from and cooked to perfection, staff were helpful and cheerful, especially Jane who was very attentive and friendly

room 704 not great the whole corridor need a major referb . thread bear carpets in the room and the stairs to it very much in the eighty's, the priced charged did not reflect the quality given. the staff were great , restaurant and bar very helpful , breakfast cooked on mass not great quality. regal shame nice location spend some money on the place it could be great,

Went with coach party this summer. Loved it. Had a deluxe twin room, very comfortable and loved the decor of the bedroom and the hotel generally. Loved the food and the staff were excellent. Didn't use sports facilities but they looked very enticing.

Amazing hotel experience! I had a wonderful time at this hotel, the staff were friendly, helpful and maintained the chilled vibe of the hotel. My room was very clean and spacious, I had everything I needed. The pool was excellent and quite big for a hotel pool! I enjoyed the bar to relax and have food in the evening. Thank you to all staff, I will definitely return!
