Quality Inn South Hill I-85

The staff was wonderful. I want to give a Big appreciation to the following people, Thelma, Ernestine, Sharon, Debra, Terrance, Britnni, and many others that I didn't get their names. I came here in an electric wheelchair and the batteries died so I was stuck here until the repair man came. I had no problems to report other than the internet kept going out which was not their fault 😒 🙃 I had my room cleaned every time I requested it and Ernestine done it very well and so did the other young lady that I didn't get her name.

DO NOT STAY! It’s a week later and we are still talking about how horrible this hotel was. We took one step in and booked a different hotel 5 minutes away, not caring about the money spent to get out of there as quick as possible. The smell was unbearable, stained sheets, bugs, unidentified white substance on the nightstand, cigarette ashes in the shower, and a floor that a cockroach would be skeptical to walk on. We did not feel safe and left within 10 minutes of walking in the room.

Carpet is old and worn out. Overall property and stairways need a lot of cleaning. Choice Hotel shows this property as a 3.7 out of 5 rating. I stay at Choice Hotels primarily and this should be rated as a 2.5 star property. I won't be back.

After 600 miles of driving for the day, I was exhausted and cranky. I was greeted by the sweetest desk clerk named Leah. I did not have a reservation because I didn’t know where I would end up stopping. She upgraded me to a hot tub room for regular price and sent me to my room happy. The room itself was ok. Some minor issues but nothing to make me want to leave. The room was dark and quiet and that was what I needed. I went to check out in the morning and Leah was there again. Yes they did let her go home and she was back. Breakfast was the usual fare. Leah topped off my coffee when the urn emptied and got waffle batter for the empty waffle maker. Thank you Leah for making this cranky man happy. Hopefully your boss sees this and is so impressed that he sends you to Hawaii for a week

Conveniently located right by the interstate. Fast food places within a minute or two. Better dining within 5-10 minutes. My room was exactly like I had anticipated. Clean sheets and fridge in the room. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

If I could give this hotel 10 stars, I would!! After getting screwed over on my original hotel, I called this hotel which happened to have a room available! The front desk lady, Tavonda Haskins was WONDERFUL!!! Especially with my two boys as we were trying to get to our room!

We came here to meet for our first "anniversary" as a couple. We asked for a whirlpool bath room and got it. In some ways , the desk clerk, who seemed to be always on duty, was both very helpful and then not so much. We asked for extra towels and washcloths and got them without asking why, For the record, over a year ago, one of my doctors told me to put a wash cloth in hot water, squeeze it as dry as possible, roll it, and put it over my eyes while lying down. This has helped me ever since then. We were able to make the most out of the breakfast, which contained nukeable breakfast bagels. I asked about the return of the hot breakfast which I had noticed at several recent stays, both at Choice Hotels and other brands. I got a curt, "Not here." We got the water going for the whirlpool. However, when I got out I stepped on a tile at the end of the step up and part of it fell out onto the floor. Later, flushing the toilet, the flush mechanism fell apart. The lock nut had come completely loose - I was only able to tighten it finger tight. Both of these were shrugged off by the clerk. The morning of our checkout members of the room staff were helpful. Having stayed there twice we feel that this is an older property still showing off its former glory, but a bit down at the mouth. That said, we have not run into some of the really bad comments made by other guest reviewers. On the other hand, if a non-smoking room does smell of smoke, the guest should get a clean room or get help from another motel. In the same vein, if housekeeping walks into a used nonsmoking room and the room smells of a match, the former guest needs to be charged. We will probably come again and hope there will be more improvements on the base.
