We came here on the 10 day break which was booked as a 60th birthday surprise for me. When I was sent the name of the hotel a few days before we were about to fly, my heart sank a little when I saw ‘Best Western’ as I imagined it to be a typical American chain of hotel with no character…. How wrong was I!!! Everything that the hundreds of positive Tripadvisor reviews and more were right. The holiday was booked as a packaged deal with TUI from Newcastle. We were on a half board basis. I definitely recommend you do the HB as you won’t get this level of food in town or amount of choice each night. They cater for vegetarians and gluten free eaters also. We arrived early at 2pm and greeted with a glass of Prosecco in the lounge and we were lucky to get into our room early. Our room was on the 3rd floor (316). It was a big room with plenty of storage space, comfortable bed, decent air con (bearing in mind it was 35 deg), great free WiFi , safe, minibar and a south facing balcony which faced the pool. The balcony had an airer so you can hang your costume etc (bring ur own pegs) and table and chairs and sun loungers. The bathroom was huge with loads of towels, hairdryers, shower gels etc, even a non slip mat for the bath should you wish to shower instead. Another thing I liked about our room is that they don’t have those stupid things that you hang on the door if you want to have your room cleaned or not be disturbed. There’s a little button that you press on the inside of your door where it lights up on the outside telling the domestics that you do not wish to be disturbed, this eliminates guests potentially from swapping the hanging notices which creates problems when they are trying to be funny! Hotel is not super modern, the tiles on the floor are beautiful and it adds a certain charm to it, we loved it. The hotel is about 10 - 15 minutes away from Sorrento town by bus and the hotel run a complimentary minibus service every hour which is a godsend. The bus fits about 28. I wouldn’t risk walking there as there isn’t a pathway as such and the drivers here a little, actually ALOT crazy. The bus starts around 8 and last pick up is at 11:15. All pick ups are prompt. There is a little shop about 15 mins away from the hotel, so if you’re daring enough, get yourself there. We purchased things like biscuits, crisps and water. Like other guests said, the hotel is absolutely spotless and the domestics work really hard to ensure that this is maintained Food - breakfast everything there to suit your taste, even gluten free!! Fresh fruit, pastries, bread which you can toast, cereals, juices, cheese, ham, the list is endless. With dinner, there is a set menu. There are three courses ,you can also help yourself to the salad bar. The only thing I would suggest is to ask the side dish of the day is as it might not go with what you are choosing as your main (side dish might be mash or peas therefore, might not go with baked chicken, or pizza
