Long story short: it did not meet expectations with regard to cleanliness, hospitality, location, or overall quality or description of the property, and my wife and I left early to finish our honeymoon at an Airbnb. Details, good and bad: 1. It advertises as a hotel and restaurant and upon check-in we were told there was a bar but no restaurant. There were neither. 2. We did not eat breakfast here (we just saved our appetites for lunches and dinners) but the spread looks wonderful, and Consuela who runs it is very hospitable. 3. The room is small. This was our main reason for deciding to leave. We literally cannot open our carry on bags anywhere in the room other than the bed. There is no amount of floor space big enough for us to open our luggage. 4. We got an ocean view room with a balcony, and while there is a balcony, it is reached by a small door that also acts as the only little window looking out. I’ll attach a photo. It would not be a bad room/layout for someone who packed light and basically used the room to sleep in the bed and just enjoy the area. The seating area on the balcony is located under the ac unit, which drips, so the plastic table and chairs out there were wet and dirty when we first went out. We were hoping for a room with a window taking advantage of the amazing views from the hotels vantage point on the hill, and it just wasn’t that. Fine for many, just not for us on our honeymoon. 5. The location is not close - we’ve seen some reviews online and information stating that it is a 15 minute walk to town and a 10 minute walk to the beach - it is a 10 minute drive to town according to maps app, and a 31 minute walk to the center of town. It is on a steep winding hill with no shoulder and constant traffic. Cabs are 20-50 euro. There is a shuttle service about a 3 minute walk that is fine, 1.5 euro one-way, they run every 30 minutes from 8:00-10:50 am, then 4:50 pm-midnight. There is another public bus near the shuttle we took once during that shuttle break during the day, 1.80 euro/person. The beach that is within walking distance is not for swimming, just a hike. The real swimming beach clubs are another 10 minute walk from the center of town. 6. The overall cleanliness wasn’t what we expected of a 3-star hotel. Maybe that means something different in Italy compared to America? The Hampton Inn is what I am picturing as a 2-star hotel, and we have always had good experiences with them. Basically the front desk and breakfast area are shiny clean, the stairs are dusty, and there’s an immediate mildew smell in the stairway. There was an ant problem in the room (see photo), and little details are not spotless in the room (dirty mirror on the wall, moldy rubber bottom to the shower door, lots of dust and light odor comes from the ac unit). 7. Accommodations - there was no hand soap, shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom upon arrival. There is nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom. 8. On day 3, we were awoken by someone
