Courtyard Somerset

We stayed at this hotel during our roadtrip. We like to keep our status on BONVOY and for this reason try to stay as much as possible in marriot. The hotel was what one expect from a courtyard : clean with all amenities a traveler want. The staff at the reception was very friendly but i want to do a special shout out to the woman who is on her own managing the Starbucks during the morning hours: to handle this all on your own and stay friendly and sincerely caring about her customers, is amazing! The women who managed the counter in the evening was also very friendly and accommodating.

Enjoyable experience. Modern hotel in a quiet area which equals a good night sleep. Thank you to some very wonderful associates: Heather & Tina: appreciated their warm smile, kindness, and taking great care of me at breakfast. My day got off to a wonderful start as a result. Haley - front desk: also appreciated her kindness and being so helpful and great final impression as I left the hotel. Very good stay.

Seems like a rather standard Courtyard. Problems were: Internet didn't work, there is limited soap in the room, and there is no headboard for the bed (the latter may be the new Courtyard bizarre standard). Having a mini-Keurig in the room is nice, though. Neighborhood seemed safe enough.

I stayed for 5 nights. Front desk staff is very nice and attentive. the next morning i came down to the barista for a couple coffees. i was second in line and it seems like whatever the first customer ordered she didnt have. so, i got up there grabbed two yogurts and asked for two coffees. Cammie was complaining of how big a circus it was that morning. one kind of coffee was out, so i got a different kind. when she pouring it, it ran out. then told i would have to wait... which was fine. finally i got both coffees and both yogurts. was taking them to my room. i couldn't hold all of it and asked her if i could use her tray (as none are provided). she said NO. well i took them the best i could and got to the elevator and the hot coffee spilled EVERYWHERE. It burned my right arm and ruined my sweater. a lady at the desk who was so nice cleaned the area. I took the rest to my room and came back down for new coffee. the lady at the barista smiled and said, O so sorry honey... so, the door on our hotel room did not close all the way. I learned that that first day. u had to give it an EXTRA pull. i came back yesterday to find that housekeeping didnt pull the door shut and it was open all day... plus, 2 days didn't get maid service. Will never stay here again. i spoke with a lady and she spoke to the manager and was hoping to have my coffee bill refunded due to her horrible customer service and i got burnt, plus ruined my sweater. the manager said no. Horrible, horrible, horrible! will tell everyone i can about what happened!

I booked a business trip reservation but because the hotel could not accommodate the full week I was forced to cancel. The hotel charged a full night to my credit card. Not an issue as that is in the terms but the fact that they refused to provide a receipt/email confirmation for the charge is beyond me. Anyone that travels for business understands receipts are essential for expense reporting. I made several phone calls to request a receipt, I was hung up on by the front desk and when I called back to ask for her name and management the person stated she was the only one working today & its against HIPAA to disclose her name😂 please tell your personnel not to use terms they aren’t familiar with. And if you are going to charge anyone for anything provide a receipt!

Attending a conference in the facility next door and this was the host hotel. It’s fairly new and really was a great property in a small town. I stayed on the fourth floor, the AC worked great, and the room was spacious enough. The only complaint and it is not major, but the restaurant was understaffed and the morning I ate breakfast, it took longer than it should have. Would stay here again

Well appointed rooms, very clean, located near everything. Staff were courtesy and helpful .Microwave, refrigerator and Keurig were nice to have. The pool was available but we did not use it. Room was very 7p to date. I would definitely come back here!

I did not get a chance to meet the GM/Manager of the hotel, although I wanted to reach out and thank her for insuring my recent stay was great. All the associates were personable, welcoming, and helpful. Leadership starts at the top, and from my experience, this hotel has great leadership. The hotel is new and provides a very nice layout from the moment you walk into the facility. Everything is clean and new. A very nice Courtyard. Also, I enjoyed a nice, made-to-order breakfast. For runners or walkers, Somerset Community College is right across the street and provides a quiet, well-lit area to do a run or walk. The Courtyard will be my only choice of hotels upon my return to the area. Thank you!

Clean hotel and in a good central location. Front desk attendant said literally two words at check in “last name?” And nothing else. Bed was very uncomfortable and too squeaky for my taste. Would stay again if needed but nothing special. Did have a pool and gym but we didn’t use those.
