Beautiful landscapes friendliness ,warmth and excellent service

There is nothing luxury about this lodge. The food was good and the view was beautiful, but that's all this place has going for it. We were booked here for two nights, but we left after one night and paid for a new lodge because our experience was so bad. The flaps on the tents do not close properly. They are meant to zip up the sides and velcro across the top, but the velcro does not hold ESPECIALLY in the wind. We were there on a very windy night and it sounded like someone was banging on our tent all night long. We got no sleep until we decided to deal with the cold air instead of the wind and opened all of our tent windows. When we asked the staff in the morning about this, they said that all of the tents are the same and refused to try and help fix the issue by trying a different tent. They offered no solutions at all and made it sound like guests complain about this to them all the time. When the manager on duty spoke to us, he was incredibly rude and condescending. He told us that the wind is the problem and they are not responsible for the wind. We told him that the velcro doesn't hold on the tent windows, causing them to bang and make noise, this was the problem. He continued to explain that the season was changing and that it is windy...he even said "well there will be wind on the sand dunes" when we explained that we were upset because we weren't able to hike the dunes that morning for lack of sleep. He even started to raise his voice at me at one point. We went down the road and booked a new lodge for the second night (despite getting no refund, it was that bad).

If you are looking for your “I had a farm in Africa moment”, look no further. What a peaceful place, quiet, secluded. Perfect. We arrived just before sunset and Josephine showed us to our rooms. All staff very helpful and speak great English. After a stunning sunset and cocktails on the verandah, we had a sumptuous dinner of butternut soup, oryx steak and veggies and a delicious fruit dessert. Everything was so tasty yet easy to digest, perfect for the traveler. Breakfast was equally good! Our luxury tent… well it blew me away. Very clean and luxurious, hot water, fresh towels etc. The night was quite warm so we could leave the tent flaps open and so we could enjoy the spectacular views of stars and mountains from every single window, even from the shower overlooking this vast moonlit valley! Highly appreciated! It was a truly magical experience. I sat in my comfy bed, hot water bottle and all and stared into the starry night of this tranquil, dream valley. I thought it a pity to fall asleep, I just could not get enough of it. This was definitely a highlight for us in Namibia. Highly recommended!

During my recent trip to Namibia, I had the pleasure of staying at Moon Mountain Lodge and I can confidently after visiting 137 Countries that it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism that set the tone for my entire stay. The rooms were absolutely stunning, food it was amazing and location it was unforgettable! L One of the standout experiences was the guided tour arranged by the hotel manager Hannes Boshoff … It offered an incredible insight into the local culture and natural wonders of Namibia, making my trip even more memorable. The hotel's dedication to providing unique and enriching experiences truly sets it apart. Thanks Hannes and his beautiful fiancé Leandre and his crew !! You guys are incredible! Looking forward to go back with my family!

We had a beautiful stay with Moon Mountain Lodge. peaceful and quiet. delicious food kind and helpful staff drinks are affordable. We enjoyed our own splash pool. the view from all around the lodge is breath taking, and something to see yourself.

It’s not about the staff, or the view.. This lodge was the most expensive of our trip, it was supposed to be the highlight. But was a mistake. It’s not about the staff, they are great. And the view is gorgeous. But the place itself is totally overrated: all over lacking in quality and the price is much too high. We do not often write reviews, but sometimes you feel obliged …. Website is misleading, it is not luxury, and certainly not extra luxury. The positive things. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, it’s spacious.. The bed is fine. View great. But it’s basic. Simple. There is a spacious balcony, but only 2 simple upright foldable chairs. No lounge chairs, no table, no sun shield or parasol. Its outdated for years.. Yes, recently renovated, meaning repairs and a fresh wood treatment. But furniture is still old. Restaurant looks like a canteen with plastic chairs. No coffee at your room, only a bag of Nescafe. Etc..Noisy fridge. Utensils limited and an eclectic collection. We used our own camping chairs, which were a lot more comfortable. The food; nothing wrong, made with love But a culinary adventure as the website promises? Bear in mind: the price we payed for all those disappointments was almost 300 euro for a night. Really a lot of missed opportunities. Some simple suggestions to start with: Something as simple as a coffee plunger and real coffee. Two lounge seats and something to create some shade, a parasol or sail. This was a mistake.. It is overpromised and overpriced

The vibration of Moon Mountain Lodge is stingy, one of scarcity, and energetically low. As an international traveler and doctor, allow me to tell my personal story (and Moon Mountain will have their own version). This is the first time EVER that I have ever been treated poorly and unfairly by a supposedly classy place (which unfortunately it is not in my humble opinion). I booked-up a multiple-night stay in Jan-2024 and paid in advance US$1,000 but after a personal accident (broken shoulder), my injury got worse and I had to leave Namibia on a medical emergency ... and even in giving Moon Mountain Lodge TWO WEEKS' advance notice that I could not come, the owner didn't authorize any type of refund, not even a partial amount, even though they re-booked the room (and I found that out through an employee there). This was the ONLY place in Namibia on-tour that did not provide a refund (out of 7 places,5 gave me full refunds, one gave me a partial refund, and Moon Mountain Lodge gave NOTHING). They point to an awful old-fashioned and harmful policy where they won't budge on anything financially which tells you everything. They will not even issue a refund IF a pandemic hit again (and now as of Feb-2024 there is Covid nearby again in Rehoboth), so that means if you book-up a month in advance, you may have the same UNFLEXIBLE policy if you cannot come or don't want to come because of a pandemic, and yet Moon Mountain Lodge will NOT refund you. SHAME ON YOU, Moon Mountain Lodge, for you have brought this stain upon yourself: you have lowered your reputation.

We had the most incredible experience at Moon Mountain Lodge over New Year's Eve. The Service was exceptional even though they were running on min. staff. The dinner was one of the best we ever had on a lodge. One tiny suggestion: please consider offering Coffee and Tea in every room. Nothing beats that amazing sunrise view with a coffee. - The staff was so kind to provide us with some coffee and a plunger after requesting :)

It was our second visit. It is one of the most beautiful places. Worth every sent. Please consider the safety of the railing for children. We will definitely visit again and again! Thank you for making our stay so unforgettable!
