Siolim House is a stunning property that exudes heritage charm, offering spacious and comfortable rooms. We stayed in the front room next to the front desk, which I wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a quieter experience. While the beds were incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was huge, the proximity to the front desk meant we could hear a lot of activity, especially when some staff had their phone on speaker. As an old heritage home, the acoustics naturally carry footsteps and voices. It would be great if the staff used earphones while on screen to reduce the noise. That said, the disturbances were never after hours or too early in the morning, and I had some of the best sleeps despite being a light sleeper who’s sensitive to sound. The other rooms seemed quieter and more private, so I’d recommend exploring those options. The property’s common areas are beautiful, with a lovely open-air atrium featuring bougainvillea and vibrant flowers. The pool area is inviting, with plenty of sun throughout the day, fresh towels, and spacious sun beds. Breakfast was decent, with fresh fruit, juices, cereals, and bread, complemented by eggs and ham cooked to order. However, the food options could be more flexible. Lunch and dinner require pre-ordering well in advance, which isn’t ideal for holidaymakers with changing plans. When we arrived, we ordered salads from the quick menu, which were underwhelming. Leslie, the manager, was an absolute highlight of our stay—friendly, engaging, and genuinely interested in getting to know us and ensuring we had a great experience. He offered recommendations and made us feel right at home. While some staff were equally warm and helpful, others seemed less enthusiastic, and the hospitality could use some fine-tuning to elevate the overall experience. Siolim House has just nine rooms, creating a cozy, family-like atmosphere among the guests. We were fortunate to meet lovely fellow travelers during our stay, and some were even returning visitors, which speaks to the charm of the property. The location is convenient, with restaurants nearby, and the staff assisted us in renting a scooter, which made exploring the area a breeze. Parking across the street was easy, and we felt well cared for and safe throughout our stay. Overall, Siolim House is a beautiful and peaceful retreat with much to love. A few tweaks to the hospitality and dining flexibility would make it an even more welcoming and relaxing experience.
