Barceló Maya Caribe - All Inclusive

Big shout out to the Zumba instructors at Barcelo Caribe. These ladies were incredibly amazing!! Valeria ,Jaidyn &Janne. I walked every day from Maya tropical to Maya Caribe just to dance and experience Zumba with these beautiful ladies. They know how to entertain a crowd and of all the activities offered at the resort ,Zumba at Barcelo Caribe was my absolute favorite. My entire family, including my 10 year old son enjoyed the Zumba experience every day. I ended up joining Barcelona club premium membership and I’ll be coming back and I cannot wait to dance with these incredible ladies again.

We always have an exceptional time at Barcelo Maya Grand Resort. We have stayed at the Adults Only(Maya Riviera) and now Caribe. Both times were AMAZING with no issues at all. Service was incredible from check in to check out. We have stayed at numerous resorts throughout the Mayan Riviera including most of the Dreams resorts and Hotel Xcaret Mexico/Arte. Hotel Xcaret Mexico/Arte are amazing but for 2-3x the cost, Barcelo is our favorite for Adults Only and our family vacations. Just having access to all the other properties within walking distance is worth the price. If you’re looking for a beautiful SAND beach, this is it. You can walk down the beach in the sand forever or choose to walk the concrete pathway alongside the beach which is also a nice option. You never have to leave the resort if you don’t want to. There are so many activities included and tons of other options onsite you can stay busy all day. Min golf, kayaks, Hobie Cats, Water Trikes, Bowling Alley, water parks, etc. If you’re thinking about booking this resort, just do it. It’s worth every dollar spent.

I really enjoyed the resort after we were switched to a different building. Our first room faced the walkway and every morning between 3:30 AM and 4:30 AM we were woken up by late night revellers, loud and just plain noisy walking outside the building after leaving the clubs The front desk people were very accommodating We attended a few a La Cart restaurants and the food was usually very good. There were only two that we felt needed attention and they were mentioned to management Overall our stay was very enjoyable. We found the resort to be clean and well maintained.

Amazing resort with 6 hotels combined in a perfect location with excellent facilities. All inclusive was great.

We have been to The Barcelo Maya resort multiple times. We keep going back to the same resort because the beach is beautiful and always clean and the snorkeling is good as well. The staff are always nice even when they can’t fix a problem they still try to be nice. The resort itself is huge. The pools are beautiful. The swim up bars have great service. The rooms are always clean. We have also had one of the rooms with the hot tub on the balcony and that was kind of fun, but I’m not sure that’s worth the money. The reservation style dining is good. The show at Tokyo is fun and enjoyable. The buffet food is decent. I wouldn’t say it is outstanding, but it’s definitely edible. The upside of the buffet is the servers are always attentive. The resort itself is always clean and you get to see iguanas all over the place well except in your room. If I had to say the only downfall of this resort seems to be, they have an issue getting you checked in on time. If you’re ready for the fact that you are not going to get your room at 3 o’clock when they say check is you don’t get mad about it, but it is definitely an issue they need to work on. Make sure that unlike my wife at the little stands, you don’t pay full price. There is always room to haggle!! The shops at the mall and all the little shops in the courtyard will all haggle price with you. Do not pay their original asking price. Also for transportation to the hotel from the airport, it is cheaper and easier to book it through Barcelo while you are booking your room. On previous trips, we felt that the drinks have been watered down but on this trip for sure they were not. If you plan on going in the ocean, I recommend water shoes because you can walk forever in the water and be able to see and touch the bottom but there are rocks and stuff that hurt your feet. If you don’t have the water shoes. Overall, we absolutely love this resort and plan on going again. I also recommend watching some videos about the resort so you have an idea of what to expect. Try to find videos that are non-biased and kind of a Karen base approach. If you are a laid-back non-uptight person you’re gonna love this place just don’t expect it to be the four seasons because you’re not paying for the four seasons. Believe me from my experience this is one of the nicest resorts for the money you spend, and I believe it is a great deal.

Overall trip and stay was excellent for the exception of the mini mall incident with not refunding me on a damage and defected purchase. Also the buffets in restaurants should be removed, they should serve the appetizer and starters not have a buffet for that type of foods.

The Caribe rooms were sub-par. Our bathroom tub caulking was molded. The bathrooms throughout the hotel were dirty and disgusting. Check in staff unhelpful. No direction given on where we could eat, where the entertainment was, no details about the resort. We were told at check in that the restaurants reservations were full and that we had to eat at a buffet, which we had to walk around and find. The buffet was dirty. Flies on the food. Service was poor. I would not stay here again.

Great resort and I will be coming back very soon. Lorena Mańce Rojas of the gift shop of Caribe was wonderful. Also Carol of the Gift Shop of Tropical gift shop is very kind and pleasant. The buffet of colonial is exceptionally good. Thank you!
