Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Communication and Double Charging
I stayed at 1926 Le Soleil & Spa from February 26 to March 1, 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and terrible. Due to a system error and lack of clear communication from the hotel, I was charged twice for my stay.
When I checked in, I provided both my name and my girlfriend’s name, but the hotel staff failed to inform me that there were two active bookings under similar names. As a guest, I expect the front desk to notify me immediately if they notice duplicate reservations, especially when both guests' passports were presented. Instead, the hotel remained silent and later charged me a no-show fee for a booking I was never aware was still active.
Afterward, trying to resolve the issue was frustrating. Email responses were slow and often came at the end of the hotel's working hours, making communication inefficient and prolonging the situation unnecessarily. Even after multiple clarifications, the hotel refused to take responsibility for their failure to inform us at check-in, pushing the blame onto the guests instead.
This is completely unacceptable service for a hotel that claims to be four-star quality. I am extremely disappointed and will not recommend 1926 Le Soleil & Spa to anyone seeking professional and trustworthy service during their stay in Malta.
