Wingate by Wyndham Slidell/New Orleans East Area

When I arrived at the hotel I was told I couldn’t check in because the internet was down. The clerk suggested I go down the street to Red Roof Inn to get a room. I told had already paid for three nights here and I had no intention on paying again somewhere else. He then told me if I came back in the morning I MIGHT be able to get a refund. I asked him to call management. He came back and said management said there was nothing they could do. A while later another clerk came and said he could check us in with his phone. Finally right before midnight we checked in. The air conditioning in the room did not keep room cool. We never had a housekeeper come to our room. Trash was running over. I had to ask a housekeeper in the hall for toilet paper and fresh towels. The dirty towels were never picked up. It was ridiculous. The pool was closed our entire stay. The only positives about this property was the location next to restaurants and stores. Definitely will never stay or recommend this property

Great stay room clean and breakfast good. Had nice restaurant around the area which is was great front desk personnel was great from the moment we got there. The only bad part was if you are fixing the pool you don’t need to close the gym. That’s bad part only

This hotel was located conveniently off the highway. There’s a 24 hour diner across the street too. Check-in was very easy, quick, and the person behind the desk was very efficient. The room we stayed in was quite spacious and pretty clean. The toilet didn’t flush so my husband had to take the lid off and fix the handle, but that was no big deal. The faucet in the sink was also a little loose. But everything in the bathroom looked brand new and all of the furniture was in good shape. The beds were clean. The shower curtain had some mildew at the bottom and the bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower were pretty gross. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The TV had a channel guide, which was nice, but there was a vertical line going through the screen. Not a big deal though. Breakfast was not that great, the sausage was very greasy and the eggs were kind of gross. There wasn’t a lot to choose from either. But the worst part was the coffee was absolutely terrible! The cost of the room was supposed to be around $115 but our credit card charge was $145, so they may have overcharged us. I will edit this out later if they didn’t!

Room was nice and clean as it should be for a hotel that is as new as this. Staff was friendly. Pool was closed so that seems like it should have warranted a discount. I feel like my the price was only ok for the quality of her hotel. The shower certain was too short meaning a flooded bathroom floor was unavoidable.

Booked a room showed up around 9 pm got my room, they already had someone in it. They had no other rooms available. Had to leave. Not to happy about that situation I worked 13 hours and have to work 13 more again tomorrow…………………….. so ya take as you will

Rooms are okay, but not great. The breakfast buffet is almsot none existing during my last 3 stays here, whilst before it was okay. Staff come across as victims of their management and know about the issues but claim it is on purpose so poor.
