We enjoyed two nights at Paolo's delightfully quaint B&B. It has a stunning position with wonderful views towards the cathedral in Ortigia. Surrounded by lovely cafés, pasticceria, restaurants and shops, this is also a very relaxing place. Partly due to the limited traffic in the old town. Paola is kind and attentive and we enjoyed the vouchers for the bakery downstairs. This B&B has a very vintage flavour. Thank you Paola, we would love to return.

I almost don't want to write a review, because it was so good - I tried to book it again this year and it was booked. Service, quality, room, location... all were perfect. We had such a good time we booked another trip to Ortigia again this year.

Charming, unique, picturesque . . . all in an idyllic setting in the center of Ortigia. Our host was an unexpected gift! Her knowledge of the local restaurants, drivers and sites really enhanced our first visit. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This small guesthouse, run by gracious and generous Paola, is a miracle: perfect location in the very center of Ortigia/Syracuse, spotlessly clean, with a wonderful view onto the picture perfect Piazza Minerva. Price to quality ratio is excellent, and Paola provides an extraordinary amount of amenities for such a small and unassuming place: bottled water, wine glasses, cafe chair and table, small refrigerator, nice bath products, clean towels and room cleaning daily, and a high quality espresso maker with good quality coffee pods, plus tea making facilities. On top of all this, she provides a coupon good for a coffee drink and a pastry at the excellent bar beneath the apartment. Paola herself is charming and warm. I can recommend highly Il Solotto di Maria Pia. For the money, it cannot be beat!

We had 5 nights in this wonderful B&B. Our host Paola was superb. Everyday she would check to see everything was right and would top up breakfast supplies and advise us where to go, eat etc. Just what you need in a place like this. You would not get a better location with sweeping views down the main square to the cathedral. Rooms are quite eclectic with fabulous wall finishes and ours even had the most beautiful marble sink. We arrived by Coach (interbus from Taormina). It's a short taxi ride or 20 minute walk from the bus or train. This was a great base to explore the SE of Sicily.
