Hotel Palazzo di Valli

We stayed 3 nites at this very charming and comfortable former Palazzo in Sienna. Our hosts, Giacomo & Lorenzo took very good care of us, as we enjoyed a glass of wine and snacks on their lovely terrace, with a great view of the surrounding countryside. Breakfast were ample and delicious -- of course always with expressos. They made dinner recommendations and reservations for us, as well as arranging taxis to the train station and a day-long excursion to Monterrigione, Volterra & San Gimignano. The location is lovely and quiet, being outside the bustle of the old city. But still easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions. Their personal attention made our stay exceptionally nice.

This hotel was the cleanest and most comfortable hotel we have ever stayed at. It felt like we were at a family members home. All accommodations were excellent and the view was breath taking. Would highly recommend staying here when visiting Siena

We had the most amazing stay at Palazza Di Valli. On our ten week trip around Europe for our honeymoon this was our easy highlight. Aside from the spacious, cool and comfortable rooms, the location and amazing views, the biggest highlight were all the amazing staff. Lorenzzo and Giacamo were so helpful and friendly. They made us feel completely at home and we saw them give the same care to all guests. The same can be said to the staff who assisted with food and servicing of rooms. The view from our room and the terrace for breakfast of the stunning Tuscan countryside was also amazing. We didn’t want to leave even after 7 days. The breakfast was also outstanding and had so many options. We spent far more time at our hotel than anticipated because the food, view and company was so great. I hope we can come back one day.

When I booked this hotel, it was rated 3 star and remains the #1 rated hotel in Siena on TA...... I would likely rate it 2 star at best. Still scratching my head about the #1 rating. Overall, I'd rate this a solid very good place - especially if you have a car. It's in Siena, but you don't have to deal with the congestion of the historic city. The views from the terraces are terrific. The breakfast was good and charming to have on the terraces. The owners/operators are friendly and accommodating. The rooms, on the other hand, (we had 2 rooms) while comfortable are a bit spartan, with a mish-mash of furniture. while some may consider this "charming", to us, it was just a mish-mash. While the place looks dated, the beds and furniture are in good condition. Thankfully someone in one of the messages did warn us that the entrance gate is narrow - BUT a full sized car can easily make it in. once you figure that out, the place is easy to get in and out of.

This place is heaven. I just loved the setting, looking out over the Tuscan countryside, listening to birds, enjoying the nicest breakfast we had in all of Italy. It was hard to get up from our table on the terrace and go anywhere. If you seek relaxation, this is the place for you. Giacomo and Lorenzo show great attention to detail. They will go out of their way to facilitate your stay and your travels. Suzannah (sp?) who helps serve breakfast was also very pleasant and responsive. Really, the staff and the setting here are above reproach. Here are some more details, to temper your expectations. The single room has a small bed, but it was quite affordable. I appreciated that it was an option and the fact that the management was flexible in allowing me to switch my reservation from a double. Siena is ten minutes walk from the villa, but you must walk further to access the town's main sites. This was not a problem for me, except for when it was pouring rain. There is also a bus option right outside of the property. Even if you have a car, this saves you the hassle of figuring out where/how to park closer to Siena. There is one modest restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the villa, that serves pizza for the most part. Again, if you walk further into town, there are many options and the hotel's staff provided me with very trustworthy recommendations of where to eat. I do not think you will regret coming here. You are at Siena's doorstep but far enough away that you can savor the peace and beauty of the Tuscan countryside. Grazie mille Giacomo and Leonardo!
