Heritage Hotel Life Palace

Amazing hotel in the heart of the old town. Beautifuly old stone building refurbished with great taste. Matei has been an excellent Ambassador of the city and cordial with all suggestions. Loved it!

There are many heritage hotels in Croatia, comprising historic buildings sensitively repurposed as hotels. The Life Palace was our first experience of a heritage hotel and it certainly has the required historic credentials. As you would expect, the hotel is well-located in the old centre of Sibenik. It’s within a few minutes’ walk of the town’s main sights, although there can be a lot of climbing involved in those short walks! Given its location, it’s not possible to drive right to the hotel. We parked our car in Poljana Public Garage, which is a modern underground carpark close to the hotel. The staff we encountered at the Life Palace were a mixed bunch, ranging from slightly surly to extremely welcoming (the latter very much outnumbered the former). Breakfast was a highlight, with helpful staff who gave us the option to eat inside the building or outside in the square which the hotel fronts. Our room was very pleasant, with a slightly whiffy bathroom. We soon discovered that this is a feature of many historic hotels in Croatia.

Absolutely Wonderful 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 From arriving at the hotel we experienced the most amazing hospitality. The hotel was spotless, the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Stayed here because we also stayed at this hotel in 2018 and we were super happy back then. Unfortunately the hotel has gone backwards slightly over that time but it is still very good. Breakfast is excellent and generous. Rooms are clean and a little funky. Shower pressure in room 103 is very poor, but our friends who stayed in room 104 had good pressure. Location is perfect in the middle of the old town. They no longer have an arrangement regarding car parking. Would probably stay here again if we ever visit Sibenik again.

The hotel is in a well-renovated building, everything was fine and the location optimal in the old town and close to everything. Unfortunately, breakfast was total chaos when their chef called in sick and the hotel clearly didn't have a contingency plan, as we had to catch our bus we had to go without our already paid breakfast. The hotel should make a contingency plan so that everyone knows exactly what to do so that the customers are not affected.

A wonderful boutique Renaissance hotel, but didn't feel at all aloof or pretentious. The welcome by the manager and very helpful receptionist was so genuinely friendly and we were offered much appreciated, complimentary welcome drinks. We booked 2 nights in a superior double room. Breakfast was a delicious buffet spread, choices of fruits, nuts, meats and scrambled eggs, bacon etc which you could eat outside on the terrace or inside. The staff are the jewel in the crown though, with a special shout out to Martina, for genuine charm and friendliness and going the extra mile in being so helpful. In fact all the staff should have 11 out of 10! In common with all the central hotels there is obviously no hotel car park, we parked a stones through away along the waterfront promenade, adjacent to the Cathedral steps, It was high season and €2 an hour but free between 11pm and 7pm.
