Motel des Cèdres

This was on Friday night of the long week Thanksgiving end, October 6. We arrived around 11h15 pm. I had to ring 3-4 times before the woman answered, not at all happy about it as she told me they closed at 10pm. I told her I had a reservation and asked her if this was on the site, she said yes. I told her I didn't see it or I would not have booked as we were coming from Ottawa, about 3-3 1/2 hours away. I checked again and if it is there, it's not in an obvious spot. It was not on the email confirming our reservation either. She left a message at our home but it was no use as we were not there. When I wanted to mention to her on the Saturday morning that I still could not find it on the web, as we were leaving at 10h15, the reception was closed. I can see a reception closing early in the dead of winter when it's -20C during the week or closing at midnight but at 10pm on a Friday of a long week end with no obvious notice is not very good business. It was very clean but the bathroom was the smallest I had ever seen, maybe 3 feet wide.

We stayed for 4 nights, a beautiful motel, better than some hotels that we were standing! Very clean, have a pool that we truly enjoyed and the landscaping is outstanding! We would definitely come again.

Took a chance on this motel b/c of the price and ratings. We were not disappointed. Only wish we could stay longer. Room was small for three of us but was spotless. Bathroom had been redone and was like new. Water pressure a little soft but not too bad. Rooms were remarkable quiet especially considering the busyness of the highway it is on. We will definitely stay there again if in the area.

We weren’t expecting a 5 star place, but I would say Motel des Cedres exceeded our expectations. Nice combination of updates and old world charm. Room was not huge, but nicely refreshed with new paint, comfortable beds and lovely sheets. Bathroom was updated with a new shower and bathtub. Plenty of hot water, and a little coffee maker fully stocked for the morning. Overall we enjoyed our two night stay and would stay here again.

We booked this motel through ******* about a week before our arrival date. The photos showed a nice, modern room. When we arrived the lady told us that the room wasn't exactly as in the photos - it didn't have a bath, just a shower. Lack of a bath wasn't a huge deal, but I asked why the change? She said that "our room had already been booked". I'm not sure how that happens, but her English wasn't strong and I don't speak French, so I didn't get into it further, and she offered to knock $15 off the price. To her credit, she did try to call my cell a couple of hours before we arrived to let us know of the change, but she didn't leave a voicemail. Anyway, our room was extremely dated and tired with peeling wallpaper and the tiniest bathroom that I have ever seen - just a closet really. It was clean at least. I should have immediately demanded a refund and gone elsewhere, but we didn't. The room definitely wasn't worth what we paid for it, even with the $15 reduction. The motel itself is attractive from the outside, and the gardens and pool area are lovely. The property is located in an unappealing area on a main road into Sherbrook, but you don't really notice that once you are off the road.

Ce Motel est très bien entretenu. Bien localisé en périphérie de Sherbrooke pour y passer une nuit au calme. Bel espace de verdure avec piscine creusée, bbq, tables et chaises pour s'asseoir. Seul bémol, la toilette n'a pas de couvercle, c'est inhabituel.
