Very surprised to find Shepton Mallet has turned into a ghost town. 1 uninspiring pub at the bottom of the high street and a bar that look passable 1/2 way up. Then we came across the Shruberry. For 2 nights we ate and drank very friendly service and excellent food. Thank goodness they were there as didn’t want to go out of town to eat and drink

Gorgeous hotel. Rooms are spotless and bed was very comfy. Ate dinner and had a lovely GF lasagne, homemade which was reasonably priced too. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice. Owner was very welcoming and friendly. Close to main amenities in Shepton.

Don't believe the ten year old photos depicted on here.Nowhere near worth the prices charged.Very welcoming but the place is like Fawlty Towers.Better to go to Premier Inn in Wells as at least it would be clean and without the bed bugs.Food is average and over priced.You would have to pay me to stay another night in this place.But I've heard the current owner of this business is very accommodating!

A warm welcome and excellent service, great choice on the menu (including a very good selection of vegetarian options), fantastic food, very pleasant surroundings and atmosphere, would definitely recommend. Very good value for money too.

Excellent two night visit. Spacious room, really helpful staff, cosy bar and lounge, delicious breakfast, good restaurant menu and value for money. Lashings of hot water in the ensuite and a very comfortable bed. We very much appreciated the offer of a light supper menu cooked according to our choice to suit dietary needs.

Lovely stay at the shrubbery! Staff were all very friendly and welcoming! The hotel and the rooms were very clean and the bed was big and comfy! Had toiletries in the bathroom which smelt lovely and there was hot chocolate and tea a coffee in the rooms too! Food was great, with lots of choice ! Also had the added bones of a well down stairs if you can find it
