Shenzhen Nanshan L'Hermitage

We had the superior king room. Large and spacious. Nice bathroom layout with a bath as well. Good amenities, clean. Non smoking room. Our room was facing the office building, which is a bit dark. We would have preferred a more open view. But not a real issue when you're out all day anyway. Our Aircon did not heat and the HDMI connection to the tv did not work somehow. Perhaps both were fixable but it was late in the evening, so we did not call reception. My wife received a large red Valentines rose on arrival, great welcome. Cheerful and helpful staff, also in English and Cantonese. The street has various simple shops, massage and hair salons, and eateries and if you walk about 10 minutes, you reach Nantou Ancient city, a fun old district with various free small museums about the old Nanshan, plenty coffee shops, dessert and ice cream shops and nice restaurants of all price ranges. Quite touristic, worth visiting and looking for something to do or a nice dinner out.

The room is functional and comes with a decent size and a good bathtub. The only major drawback is the view. We checked in late and didn’t see it until the morning. It woke you up faster than a coffee! Maybe reconsider your booking if you are sensitive to views.

This time I stayed on a higher floor. There was a guest who smoked with his door opening keeping the hallways quite disgusting. Other than that, the room had an eye mask, ear plugs, bowl of fruit and coffee machine, unlike my stays on a lower floor. Breakfast is not my favorite but I enjoy staying here every time. I appreciate the staff's quick service and attention to detail. A young lady asked me for a review but she didn't do anything for me. I thought it was gauche but I was on my way to the airport and didn't mind turning her down.

It's already been more than five times that I have stayed at this hotel. Super clean, corridors smell fresh green tea, bathrooms have a double sink, floors are heated, fitted with shower and bathtub. Breakfast is satisfactory. There are not too many varieties, but the ones they have are all delicious. The breakfast area has a terrace for coffee and smoking, chairs, and tables. The staff is friendly. Especially Bella and Teller were so excellent. I definitely will stay again and will suggest friends.

There is no metro station nearby. The room is clean and tidy, with good spacing and design.

My experience at the L'hermitage over the weekend was superb. The check in desk was very welcoming especially Amy and were very quick and efficient during the check in process as well as being willing to answer questions we had during out stay. Location is close to some stores which is good if in need of late night snacks. Overall fantastic stay and would come back to visit again in the future. Only comment would be that the room AC could be a bit cooler as got a bit hot in the room overnight but not a huge issue.
