What can I say about this place. I would like to make it clear that this review is no reflection on the staff or Egypt . On arrival we went into the reception and my heart sank , there was literally a small desk in there and it was so dark and dingy. The hotel advertises free wifi , this was the first thing that we noticed, a large sign quoting the price of the wifi, $10 for 5 days for 1 device. So not a great start, we were then taken to our room , i was in disbelief, I could have cried. The rooms are so dated, brown wooden furniture with handles missing , they quote a mini bar which was actually an old fridge with nothing in it apart from a frozen over ice compartment. There were 2 single beds in there, all they had on was a bottom sheet, we asked about more bedding and were told there were some blankets in the cupboard. I dread to think when these blankets were last washed. Went into the bathroom and it just got worse and worse, there was not even a bottle of water in there to allow you to brush your teeth, given the country that we were in , that is just a basic necessity. No kettle or cups or glasses in the rooms, I was seriously depressed by this time, and we spent a good part of the evening trying to source alternative accommodation , unfortunately as it was Christmas week we had no choice but to stay there. The hotel is advertised as all inclusive, this is a joke. The dining room has limited choices , food was terrible . The staff serve out the food with minimal portions i'm assuming to save costs. We had butter once during our stay, no sign of it on any other day. You can only get a cup of tea in the dining room , pot luck whether you get any sugar or not! You can only have a beer or wine in the dining room which are served in a plastic cup that is partially bigger than a shot glass. Should you want a tea or beer or wine from the only bar there which is around the pool, then you have to pay for it. The bar is open from 1000 - 2200 , I appreciate that you get local spirits when you go abroad , but you couldn't even have coca cola or pepsi,( these were extra charges of course), they served what tasted like value cola, it was awful and we ended up drinking what we had purchased at the airport or had to go to the supermarket , not something I have ever had to do at an " all inclusive resort". Unfortunately we were stuck there for Christmas day, they offered a Christmas dinner which consisted of seafood soup, tuna salad and fruit platter, For this privilege you had to pay $15 per person, we declined, ending up having a chicken leg with a hard bread roll and no butter for Christmas dinner. The hotel advertises a private beach so we thought we would give that a try. Got the shuttle there and there was literally a piece of beach ( in the lightest possible sense), half of which was cordoned off with sunbeds that you had to pay for of course. the beach is not sandy at all , you have to pay for any drinks as they are not included in the all inclu
