🌲 Banyan Tree Ringha – An Unforgettable Stay in Shangri-La
Our stay at Banyan Tree Ringha was truly memorable from start to finish. The staff are exceptionally friendly, genuine, and deeply committed to ensuring guests feel cared for. We celebrated my wife’s birthday here, and the team executed it perfectly — thoughtful touches all around that made the day truly special.
Breakfast via room service was fantastic — beautifully presented, with generous portions and a great selection that was more than enough for both of us. The front desk and reception team were excellent in communication; every request we made was attended to almost immediately.
When our flight was delayed, they were kind enough to extend our checkout time without hesitation, which we deeply appreciated. This level of service really sets them apart.
Worth special mention; the front desk Ms Deveny, Kendrick, and the restaurant crew. You guys Rock!
We’re already planning our next visit next year — Banyan Tree Ringha has definitely become one of our favorite stays!

The hotel is in an unbeatably beautiful area and only a 20 minute drive to the city. Completely surrounded by beautiful nature, it is a great escape for anyone. The room is huge, it’s not a room, it’s a traditional ******* house. We were blown away by the size, the ******* hot spring in the bathroom and the personal spa room. What is more, the staff are amazing. The restaurant staff were super hardworking and so friendly. They met every request asked. All the staff were amazing!! Definitely stay here if you are coming to Shangri-la.

My mom really loved being surrounded by nature and admired the hotel’s beautiful interior. The breakfast spread was small but well curated, and we loved how spacious the villa was.

This may be a little away from Dukezong Old Town, but what you get is a beautiful location and hotel kitted in ******* style. We absolutely loved our 2 floor room with the massive bath tub.
The staff could not be more friendly, from room service, to the spa, to general lobby enquiries, everybody was so nice and went above and beyond.
The food was excellent. We had breakfast and dinner as well as room service. All were top notch.
One thing I wish I’d done earlier was get their recommendations for nearby activities - they were much better actually than our guide!

Wonderful stay. Wonderful hospitality. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a retreat in the mountains surrounded by cows, horses and nature. The photos don’t do this place justice. There’s also a nearby temple. Best if you drive but they also offer free car to and from the airport

Beautiful setting, staying in traditional ******* family houses. We just love it, it’s our 4th stay. Yet, they could install modern TV sets. And very low level of English among the staff. Also, our airport transfer was forgotten yet they found a fast solution

On the way to the hotel, one would surely be surprised by such a remote road, but upon arrival, you’d find that this Tibetan-style hotel blends beautifully into its surroundings and exudes a strong sense of cultural charm. I particularly love the sunken staircase design inside the guest rooms.
Modern luxury hotels tend to feel similar, but a luxury hotel infused with regional culture is far more worth experiencing.

Each building is a bona fide Tibetan farmhouse, carefully relocated log by log. Outfitted with luxury fittings in keeping with the surrounding environment, the overall effect is an experience that is both meticulously comfortable yet authentically Tibetan.
Both Western and Chinese cuisine are served in Llamo, where signature dishes include deep-fried yak tenderloin, Yunnan roasted duck salad and Tibetan style hot and spicy noodles. Those seeking more adventurous surroundings in which to dine can opt for a Highland Romance, saddling up on horseback and being led by staff through the plains to the banks of a river for an open air dinner with a soundtrack of gurgling waters and reed pipes. Tea lovers will love the Jakhang Lobby Lounge where hundreds of varieties of the humble leaf await.
