It was a disappointing stay because the double bed room where I stayed was noisy. The room is placed near some machinery which gives permanent noise in the room. I had to permanently wear ear wax to feel comfortable. On top, the hotel had some work in process so it was a bit of a loud environment! Nice staff. The room was small but with everything needed. The hostel is well located. Price was high, I guess that this was due to the May Holiday. Breakfast is not included but can be purchased extra. It was plentiful. There is a nice bar with good music and a laundry place.

My stay at the property was satisfactory overall. A notable positive aspect was the consistent daily housekeeping service, which ensured the room remained clean and well-maintained throughout my stay.   However, I would like to highlight an issue with the laundry facilities. While a laundry room is available, the drying area is excessively cramped, resembling an overcrowded walk-in closet—particularly on weekends. This congestion led to other guests moving my belongings disrespectfully, often resulting in incomplete drying of my clothes. To improve guest experience, I recommend expanding the drying capacity or implementing better organization and etiquette guidelines, especially during peak times.   The breakfast provided was functional but limited in variety, offering only basic Western options. For a more satisfying dining experience, I suggest exploring the surrounding neighborhood, which boasts a diverse selection.

Great location, nice room and facilities. The staff don’t speak a lot of English but are very friendly. The vibe is nice and international. It seems that is is used by students for long term staying.

My room was clean and the location right off East Nanjing road next to the subway made it the perfect choice for my stay in Shanghai. I saw some complaints about the room temperature but you have to make sure to turn on the A/C after you set the temperature. This resets every time you pull out your key card. I had no problems, my room temp was perfect. Excellent place for travelers!

What can I say, if you’re on the fence just pull the trigger. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at DaYin and you should too! My plan to visit Shanghai was a super last minute, game time decision. Right after the recent Chinese holiday, for only a day, and was fully accommodated for with all the convenience I could hope for. Not only was it located in a prime location (really doesn’t get better than this as it’s next to everything touristy, saving you precious time) but everything from the service, amenities, and operation of their hostel was a pleasant surprise as it really exceeded my expectations (compared to all other accommodations I have been to like this one). The staff are very friendly and hard working, the shared areas are all kept exceptionally clean for the amount of traffic that comes through, and they probably have the best vitamin/electrolyte water in the game downstairs. I really loved how they have a extensive list of import beers which you can grab from the fridge or enjoy on tap, and the espressos that they extract were both rich and flavourful (good job). I never tried the food offerings as I knew what I wanted to eat locally, with night markets, food halls, and local eateries right as you step outside. But, from all the orders that I saw made by other guests, it all looked to be quite tasty and definitely a good option for those who want a little taste from home. Damn, this is getting long but there is a lot to say. Well, in the effort to keep things short I really didn’t have any negative experience or feel inconvenienced at all. The cleaners work around your time keeping things tidy and there are staff present 24/7 to assist, especially important if you keep locking your room keys in your room/assigned locker like me, aha. Fei and Zu were the best, but the rest of the staff were just as awesome. I enjoyed Shanghai so much that I wanted to extend my stay, which they helped me with swiftly. The room was also very nicely thought out. That’s probably all you need to know and no this was not a paid review. Thanks DaYin team!✌️

First time solo in China, and first hostel I booked in China. Was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel, toilet is mostly clean and dry, upon check in you will be provided fresh clean bedsheets, probably the downside is that you will have to put the bedsheet on yourself, but you pay for what you get. Gym is decent, location is great, near a park, train station and nanjing road. Probably one downside is that the washing has no dryer and you will have to air dry your clothes in the laundry spot. Would definitely come back and book again.

The hotel location is great just only few minutes from Metro station. You can take either exit 6 (elevator) or 7 (escalator) of people square metro. The hotel provides you a coupon for free coffee or discount drink. You can also leave your luggages in the lobby area. There is a big space in lobby floor for hangout.

The bed is clean, staffs are nice and friendly, but the shared bathroom was kind of dirty

靠近南京路location is convenient, close to Nanjing Road. However, the attitude of the front desk guy wasn't great — quite unhelpful. I ask him how long from here to airport he said dunno.. main issue — the room has no aircon. It's more like a HOTcon. I asked the front desk he just said, "The remote can't adjust, it's like that. If you feel hot, just open the door." Seriously? It’s not just warm, it’s HOT. the room started to smell. I tried adjusting it, but no matter what, it stayed at 27°C. I asked if there would be cool air at night? They said yes — but now alr 10pm, and it was still hot air blowing. The room was just too stuffy and uncomfortable 前台男子态度没有很好 但是自己铺床和鞋子还是合理的 只是房里的空调不叫空调出的是热气 问了前台他说是这样的。 说：如果热就开着门？？？？ 完全调不了空调怎么调都会只是27😅 只有晚上的时候才会出冷风 晚上是几点呢？ 我问前台的时候当时都已经晚上10点了 还是热风 房间太闷热。

Great place to stay. Very close to Nanjing Street.alot of food nearby and a convenient store . Highly recommended. N good for value too. Nice common area for hangout n make new friends. Staff are good and frendly

Great to be here. Location 10/10. Full entertainment. All well. All easy.

Pros: 1. Nearly perfect location, there’s a metro a few minutes away and it’s walking distance to nanjing road. Lots of eateries nearby 2. Clean bed and toilet 3. Staffs are friendly and speak English 4. Communal area was big enough. For extroverts, there’s a bar for you to drink and make friends. For introverts, there’s is a quiet zone on the third floor Cons: 1. Not very cheap for a hostel 2. No towels provided 3. Need to prepare your bed ( they provide duvet cover and pillow cases)
