I booked this hotel because of its location, as it was close to the venue where I was attending some events. I was driving my car and got to park in front of the hotel, which was very convenient but a little pricey. I prefer it when parking is free or included in the booking. The room temperature was 25 to 30 degrees, which is too high for me. I expressed my concern to the consignor at the reception, and he told me that he would have housekeeping adjust it. But this did little to help; it was still the same temperature when I returned before midnight. I regret this issue because I frequently stay in Shanghai, and due to the location, this hotel would be perfect, but I don't get a decent sleep when the room temperature is so high. I did have a nostalgic moment when I noticed the telefax machine in the room 😄. I didn't know someone still used this technology. And I must praise the view, it was a fantastic city view.

I stay only one night, but good position near many restaurants. Room not so big however clean 10 minutes walk to subway. Friendly staff

Wonderful elegant luxury near King An, so convenient on metro or quick Didi from SHA Hongqiao airport versus PVG Pudong. Great breakfast and wonderful clear room, lovely staff! I'll be back!

It was unbelievable that it doesn’t offer air conditioning.  We demanded that they turn on AC with no avail.  So we had to cancel our rest of days.

Great service, great hotel, great quality. I am again in Shanghai and was scammed in other hotel which has fake opinions and terrible standard :'(. I am planning to back to merry hotel, because it was really great and professional.

For the second time , got a dusty room that triggered my sinus , i suffocated whole night, I had to report the matter to the reception , they came and cleaned only that area that had the dirt ,i however realized that the carpet had not been cleaned in a long time, there was no fresh air in the room , it was a huge disappointment because the first time was worse . overall the room was expensive but small and dirty .

The location of the Merry Hotel is superb. The service is in general good. The parking lots could be a little crowded at times. When they had conferences it could get crowded and noisy. By the way, the restaurant on the third floor is excellent, and the buffet breakfast on the fifth floor is very good.

Hotel has everything you need, centrally located in the Jing-an district!

Merry Hotel is a Shanghai icon. Pre-covid had the best spa floor in Shanghai. The staff are very helpful, albeit only a few speak english, nothing was a problem. VERY convenient next to Temple, China mobile to get local sim, walking distance Wukang Lu and down town for famous Jing an temple & trains. I LOVE this hotel!

Conform stay, 5-10 minutes walk to metro stations.

Very nice and cozy place, don’t far from Anfu street. I especially appreciated that my wishes regarding the room were taken into account and I lived on a high floor with a view of the city. I also like the design of the room, there are also many amenities for guests and even a map with nearby attractions. The staff is nice and friendly and speaks English.

A wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms are comfortable, the service is excellent, and the overall experience provides great value for money. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the attention to detail really enhances the experience

The location was a bit far from the station and the hotel was not so clean unfortunately, many old stains, water leaking from shower and tub. Called reception but they told us to accept and move on..breakfast was ok, not amazing and not bad but expected a bit more from a four star hotel .
