Great deal ! The room was spacious, modern and very clean. Good location with restaurants within 5min walk, very convenient to move around Shanghai.

If you want a quiet area where you can walk leisurely and relax from the hustle and bustle of life, Hengshan Garden Hotel is for you. There are plenty of nice restaurants around the area and a short walk to the park. The service especially the concierge and the cleaning aunties are most significant as they are friendly and most willing to render assistance. I will consider coming here again in Autumn for the scenic tree lined street.

I last stayed at this hotel 10 years ago, when it was still named "Regal International East Asia Hotel". 10 years later, when I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel again, I was surprised that the hotel was more or less kept as the same, with a similar classy style and decor. Even the rooms looked the same! Although they were probably never renovated, the fixtures and fittings were kept in very good condition and the beds comfortable. It is located in a very classy and laid back part of Xujiahui, Shanghai which was part of the former french concession. I had a good stroll down Hengshan Road, and found that while it was tree-lined and as pretty as ever, there were more cafes and malls there now. The location is also very convenient, a short stroll away from Wukang Building, 5 mins walk to Hengshan Road station and 15mins drive from the bund. As I had just arrived from Chongqing, which is most definitely a second tier chinese city, I was taken aback by the good english spoken by the reception, which was much better than that in a similar 5 star hotel in CQ. The hotel staff all provided good service and were courteous. The room was large and I appreciated the work table, something that is not common in other hotels of similar price range. The toilet's design was a little strange though, as there was no real separation from the shower area and the sink(only had a glass door). While I didn't have the time to use the hotel's facilities, there was a large indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped gym-- with fitness instructors and classes. Very impressive. The breakfast at the lobby restaurant was also good, with a good selection of hot food and bread, nothing to complain about. I also loved taking a stroll in the garden behind the restaurant, where locals were exercising and the gentle winter breeze uplifted my mood greatly. Overall, for the price paid, it is a good value for money hotel in Xujiahui, Shanghai, I love the hotel itself and the neighbourhood it is located in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay here again if I am back in Shanghai, China.

Is located at the old Shanghai where the old French colonial is. If you like the old Shanghai streets where sycamore trees are dotted with yellow leaves during autumn, this is one location for you.

If you would like to enjoy "old Shanghai" and experience good Chinese food and observe Chinese ordinary people's daily life, Hengshan Garden Hotel is a great location to stay. Hengshen Garden Hotel has a long history as an international hotel and service is as excellent as expected. It is located in the old French Concession area, it is vey walking friendly and a lots small coffee shops and restaurants. The Hengshan Garden Park is about 5-10 minutes walking distance, we enjoyed the beautiful park in the middle of busy city. In the park, we enjoyed people watching (and bird watching too). People are happy doing group exercises dance, practice Tai-Chi, grandparents taking grandchildren for a stroll in the strollers. People are friendly. Worried about safety? China is the safest country to visit in my opinion. We enjoyed every minute during our visits. I would definitely stay in Hengshan Garden Hotel again when next time visiting China.

Pretty easy to get to by Metro Line 1 Hengshan Road station Exit 1 - about a 10 minute walk. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a light ikea/scandinavian type color wood design. Both breakfast and dinner buffets are large with high quality food and plenty of options for all tastes. Dinner also offers hotpot. Another review described the hotel as an 'Oasis' in the middle of Shanghai with quiet tree lined streets and garden in the back of the hotel. That is a very good description. The immediate area is calm and relaxed with not too many restaurants or shops - but with the subway nearby you can easily move around the city. Wonderful Xujiahui Park very close by. Xujiahui park is definitely worth a visit, it is beautiful. We had a relaxing and enjoyable 3 night stay here.

It is kind to children and has no problem with foreign communication. The swimming pool is spacious and clean. I even want to introduce it to my friend.

A little outdated and some staff weren’t… enthusiastic but many many were great, especially the doormen and elevator staff.   The pool was weird tho and no hot tub.  Not great for English only travelers tbh.

It is a very good hotel. I will recommend it to all of my friends. I will stay with them for my next trip.

Great location, tree lined street, an Oasis in Shanghai. It's my 2nd time staying this year.

The hotel is somewhere 5-min walk away from the closes subway station and about 1km from Wukang Rd. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only point is that the shower in our room (20F) is kind of weak.

The location is excellent. It is walking distance to a subway station. Nice surroundings. Lots of greenery, parks, nice buildings.
