The front counter service staff was friendly. You can even asked the staff to book taxis or book a dinner in advance. The laundry facilities is a plus The morning breakfast at RMB18 is a value for money.

Very helpful reception staff. Laundry facilities available which is very handy as our stay was 4 nights. Comfortable bed with air condition that we can personally set at our desired comfort level.

The location is fantastic. So many stylish relaxing bars, cafes, and restaurants nearby, but without ever getting too loud or crowded. I stayed here 3 weeks straight while studying Chinese at the "That's Mandarin" School 1 block away. It was perfect for that purpose - not too expensive, no frills or fancy amenities, but all the essentials offered. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the front desk were very kind helping me with my laundry. Honestly, I couldn't find many neighborhoods in Shanghai nicer than the neighborhood of this hotel. I often just hung out close to my room.

Very well situated. Just the language barrier with the receptionists was hard but that is just a detail. The room was clean and very big. I really recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a really good value budget stay that is clean and comfortable. Everything seems quite new. I have been before and this time paid a little extra for the two storey suite. It was fine but it was really too big for me. It was a bit irritating to use the stairs to go to the bathroom etc. and there was no benefit to having two floors beyond the novelty. I'd happily go back to the normal room I had the previous time. The a/c struggled a bit in this larger room too. It's just a small a/c unit.

In the end, very nice stay. We hit it off on a bad note, as check in was supposed to be from 14h, and when I arrived at 17h they didn't have a room ready and I had to wait another half hour. But after that, it was all well. They even offered help with putting the laundry in the drier when the drier would be free (while I was out). Location is probably good. Compared to other cities I was in China, cafes etc. in this neighbourhood seem pricey and it's all full of Western English speakers, in the bars on same the street and the nice French cafe. So, if you want to get by with English, this is probably a good neighbourhood. If you are looking for a Chinese experience, I'm sure there are better once in Shanghai.
