Great little hotel in Shanghai, it’s not right at the heart of the city but it’s close enough and near a metro station which will allow you to access trendy spots easily. There’s plenty of shops nearby, including a Luckin Coffee, Family Mart and also a few small food shops open for breakfast and late night snacking. Rooms are more snug but for the price and location, I definitely don’t mind. It still feels fairly new and most things are in good condition. Mattresses were comfy and memory foam pillows were also provided for each guest. Air conditioning was adjustable, there is robot delivery but there was unfortunately no fridge in our room - though there definitely was a space for it. Think it’s always best to have a fridge, especially during the summer so guests can store chilled beverages. Laundry room equipped with two washers and two dryers, you can view the status of each machine on the TV. As a foreigner, I was not able to connect to the WiFi because it required SMS verification via a Chinese phone number which I did not have during my stay - would be good if the hotel could provide an easier alternative for foreigners i.e. password login. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and professional. Check in was very smooth thanks to the smart staff member who gave us access to our rooms first and then completed the check in process for us afterwards, sending our passports up to our room via robot delivery. I guess because we are foreigners our documents always need to be photocopied / takes more time etc. Would definitely stay here again! Also, there is a small shop on the right of the hotel that sells delicious Mei Cai Bing (preserved vegetable flat bread).

I enjoyed staying at this hotel! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was ideal – close to the city center and major attractions, making it easy to explore. There is a beautiful riverside within walking distance, perfect for evening walks. The room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped. And the breakfast was delicious. Beautiful lobby area with drinks and coffee.

Room is new, clean and no smoking stench. Strong air conditioning and you are able to open windows for fresh air ventilation. Hot shower temperature is a bit unstable but easy to get the right temperature. Location is near to metro but if you have heavy luggage, don't take the metro as there are stairs and traffic bridges.

During my travels in China, I’ve stayed at many Home Inn Plus hotels. They’re stylish boutique hotels that are not only comfortable but also come equipped with washers and dryers, perfect for traveling light. Just last week in Shanghai, I stayed at the Home Inn Plus, Shanghai Pudong Tangqiao branch. Opened in 2024, the hotel still feels brand new. It’s conveniently located just about 350 meters from the Tangqiao metro station exit. We found it incredibly convenient, with excellent service throughout our stay. The area around the hotel is well-served by food options, including a Luckin Coffee and McDonald’s just a minute away. We booked four rooms in total: one family room, two doubles, and one twin from 4/7 - 4/12. All were exceptionally clean, modern, and well-maintained. We also tried the breakfast, which as with most Home Inn Plus hotels was better than what you typically find at boutique hotels. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Pudong New District without the hustle and noise of more crowded areas. Tangqiao’s Home Inn Plus is a gem, and I’ll definitely be staying there again.

This is my first trip to Shanghai. I am very happy to stay at Smart Hotel. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. Thank you. forgot to mention , I like XIAO DU XIAO DU!

This hotel is withing walking distance to Tangqiao subway station, which makes connection to other parts of the city quite convenient, despite being in the mid-lower Pudong area. The hotel is standard for the Home Inn brand, the room and bathroom were decent and pleasant enough for the 3 nights I spent at the hotel. Hotel staff was very kind and willing to help and communicate with me despite the language barrier. I also got help from the cleaning staff in using the laundry machine, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it/stay again.

Great location, near subway, convenience store and restaurants. The front desk tried their best to help us despite the language barrier. The room was clean, bed comfortable and a lot of space for baggage and sit around! Highly recommend the noodle shop “Chongqing” near the hotel! They even provided their own wifi for us!

The room is small but cozy and the space is enough for 2 persons.

Only 1 lift to serve the whole hotel. But overall is not bad.

Good hotel. Staff were helpful even though they cannot speak English well. Would be great of they have a translator device that comes in handy for translation. Overall good service. Breakfast was good on the last day ☺️

Very surprised by the size of the room, we had to upgrade it because it looked a lot bigger on picture. Breakfast was awful, not such thing as western options at all. No plug for western battery plug at all, and the USB and USB-C plugs we’re not working. We also didn’t like that people were smoking freely in the lobby. Not happy at all for the price, would not recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Recommended! The place near subway and bus station is nearby. The hotel is clean and nice.
