Grand Hotel Duchi d'Aosta

We came here as part of a school trip. Arrived to find the hotel had ignored the contract of no bed sharing and were less than helpful in resolving this. Next evening a group of students arrived partying all over the hotel, asking out pupils into rooms to join them. Beer pong in the corridor- vomit running down the spiral. When asking for the manager / support to look after our pupils, i was told they would send a cleaner! The hotel itself is average standard for a trip, food is acceptable but management is poor and the bookings they take is not appropriate for school groups.

we got to the hotel in the evening and as we were on a school trip we got the keys for our rooms pretty quickly. for some reason they only gave us one key in a room of three people, so if we weren't together we would have to wait for the person to come and open it for us. the room was a decent size with three single beds (two made a double). we were on the top floor (14) so we had to walk all of them in a high spiral. the 2 lifts were very bad. 2 of the teachers got trapped for about 30mins in one of them. the food was the same every night, plain tomato pasta and pizza. there was one legend chef, CHEF ANTONIO he was happy all the time and gave good portion sizes. it was very close to the slopes (2-5min walk) we also went near the end of winter so allot of the snow was melted but still great amounts for skiing.

Hello! Absolutely the worst hotel experience of my life. This place is a complete disaster from top to toes. The staff? Rude, unhelpful, and clearly couldn’t care less about their guests. The rooms? Filthy, outdated, and smelled absolutely disgusting. The entire hotel felt like it was falling apart—broken furniture, dirty bathrooms, and paper-thin walls that made it impossible to sleep. The service was a joke. Every request was met with either attitude or complete indifference. Housekeeping? Non-existent. Cleaning? Forget about it. It felt like they hadn’t cleaned the place properly in years. And let’s talk about the noise consent chaos at all hours, as if the hotel was hosting a competition for who could be the loudest and most obnoxious. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, the breakfast was inedible, and overall, this place was an absolute nightmare. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. This hotel shouldn’t even be in business. Very out dated hotel which was full of school kids. They run around the hotel all night and hotel staff do not seem to care. Reception staff and bar staff are quite rude and not helpful at all. It is in great location close to the slopes but that is the only bonus for the hotel. Rooms are very basic and need improving. The hotel has constant smell of sewage and toilets often have a very and smell.

this hotel is the worst establishment I've ever been too, the toilets in the lobby are disgusting, toilet paper and feces strewn everywhere. the rooms? falling apart my bed was missing half of its slats the tap water is disgusting, the shop downstairs is over priced and there is no selection the people here are rude and raised absolute hell the WiFi does not reach more than 5 metres out of the lobby it does not have a ski room so you have to trek to another hotel for that the food is the definition of bland the same selection of pasta and pizza ever night is nothing to write home about it stinks here if you walk past certain rooms toilets are almost always clogged the fire alarm seems to go off randomly and once 5 times In a day when we were checking in we had to wait a total of 8 hours to be accommodated with a key overall this is the worst hotel I've ever been too do not come here whatever you do

I read through the reviews before going on our school trip to Sestriere, and let me tell you… I was PETRIFIED! The tower of doom…. The turret of terror! Although these are very funny nicknames for the hotel the stay was actually decent. The rooms are nice and have good views. The food is edible although I did live of off lettuce for a week but the skiing is so worth it! The only problem is the hotel stinks and I feel like my clothes still stink of it- cigarettes and manky food! But don’t worry it’s a great trip you’ll have fun my preppies!!’ #preppy
