Hotel Zum Gourmet

The first impression of this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. Everyone is smiling and very willing to help. The room we had chosen was cosy clean and well laid out, although slightly dated. It would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom was nice and modern. There was English television to watch in the evenings when we didn't feel like going out which was a nice thing to have. The food is amazing! We stayed over the Christmas period and there was a lot of festive cheer on Christmas Eve. There was singing and the Christmas story around the Christmas tree before we went in to dinner which was lovely. Christina the owner of the hotel gave each lady a small Christmas gift which was a really nice touch. We were treated to a 7 course meal on Christmas Eve and every course was absolutely delicious. On other evenings we were given a five course meal if we chose to have everything on offer. The Chef( Christina's husband Mario) had also prepared a three course meal for people watching their weight. Christina really knows the wines to have with each meal. She has a wealth of knowledge of the wines of the region and country. There really is no shortage of good quality and beautifully prepared food and wine to delight the guests. This is also true of the breakfasts. There really is an amazing range of food to choose from at breakfast. No need to go hungry! My husband used the sauna regularly. He really enjoyed the surroundings and peace and quiet. Christina and Mario, have worked very hard to make sure the guests have everything they need at their hotel. We would very much like to visit again in the future.

All inclusive hotel with lift pass included. Great breakfast and 4 course dinner. very comfortable room, quiet with black out blinds. Very good wifi A 15 minute walk to the ski bus stop which connects the two main ski areas which are quite small plenty of blue and red runs, a couple of black slopes. Not much in the way of apres in the town. But lots of bars. A very relaxing ski holiday the weather helped with wall to wall blue skies. Would recommend for beginner/intermediate skiers.

Hotel was very good, nice traditional, nott too big so not impersonal, room (109) great & quiet with nice view, always cleaned to very good standard, great setting, food amazing (keep your chef!) breakfasts plentiful & dinners the meat so tender, we liked afternoon tea laid on each day, staff v friendly/helpful esp lady on reception in morning (dark hair) & pet friendly so met lots of lovely dogs.

We stayed here as part of a tour group and had a very early fall of snow the day we arrived turning everything white which enhanced the views from our hotel window. We had the top (third) floor room which was huge. one of the best hotel rooms we have ever been in with a large bathroom too. We were half board and the selection for breakfast was excellent hot and cold, fresh bread, cereals fresh cut fruit. A better or a second coffee machine would reduce queues and no Decaf tea or coffee here or anywhere else in Austria. Evening meals were great too, three course plus a help yourself salad bar. We were not told until arrival that all drinks were free!! which made our stay even better. Presentation was of a high standard, almost Nouveau cuisine, by an amazing chef. The staff, what can I say, they were fantastic, always smiling and helpful, even when we had a very early start. They made us all feel so welcome. Shame we had to leave.

Built in 1976, and partly renovated in 2021, hotel Zum Gourmet has 46 rooms over 3 floors, and offers all-inclusive arrangements. The hotel is practical and pleasant. Free station-shuttle, Wi-Fi, sauna & fitness and parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Our spacious room was adequately furnished and decorated in 19-seventies style, with a good double bed, a bench that can be turned into an extra double bed, TV, desk & chair, wardrobe & safe, and a sunny balcony with table & chairs. We had a separate bathroom with toilet, washbasin and shower. All was clean. The all-inclusive arrangement comprises: breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee, and dinner. The buffet breakfast is good: bread & toast, ham & cheese, eggs made to order, butter & marmalade, croissants & pastries, fruit & orange juice, cereals, milk, tea & coffee. Dinner is 5-course with salad buffet, a choice of 3 starters, a choice of 3 main-courses, dessert, cheese buffet and include apéritif, wine & digestif. We found hotel Zum Gourmet pleasant & comfortable and we had a good stay. Highly recommended.
