Jardín de Los Monos

We stayed three nights at this BNB, and it was the most pleasant stay we had while in Costa Rica. The location was wonderful, down a dead-end road and approximately 150 meters from the beach. Upon arrival, we were met by the Hostess/Owner Lettika who was professional and very guest oriented. Lettika gave us a very nice tour of the facility and promptly pointed out two sloths up in the trees. Lettika gave us a nice history of the location and had valuable suggestions regarding recreational activities and eating establishments within driving distance. We stayed in a second-floor room with a very nice balcony and air conditioning which was most valuable because the temperature outside was in the 90s during the day. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and quiet. The only sounds you could hear were the birds and the breaking waves from the beach. The property was beautifully planned with easy access to everything needed. There was very nice pool and sunning area to enjoy. Breakfast was served every morning. Each guest had a choice of three breakfasts to choose from and the meals were a highlight. The breakfast area was comfortable and made conversing with other guests enjoyable. This was a most enjoyable stay, and we highly recommend it. We will return

Really nice and well run place. Excellent breakfast and perfect cleaning. Our room was very large and comfortable and we also enjoyed the pleasant swimming pool. The beautiful beach, just 2 minutes walking from the B&B, is very long and not busy at all (you can walk kilometres meeting almost nobody). The owner Lettika was always friendly and helpful. Jardin de los Monos can also be a good starting point for visiting the surroundings: we indeed visited Manuel Antonio National Park and Nauyaca waterfalls with 2 daytrip from there.

This B&B is gorgeous. Super clean and you are catered to and taken care of daily. The caretaker Dama always made beautiful figurines with towels daily and kept all very clean. Teddy is an amazing right hand who went above and beyond with us and was patient and kind. We learned so much about wild animals while there. He shared a video with us he took at night taken of a Kinkajou right at the property. There were monkeys all over the trees and they made a show that was so much fun. The sloths are so adorable and we saw a family of them sleeping. Their gardens are like paradise/jungle with abundant flowers and vegetation all very beautiful and organized. Such a pleasure to open our eyes in the morning to see this beauty all around us. The owners are very kind and welcoming. They thrive to make you happy and tended too. The breakfast a delight that has to be tried to describe. The homemade bread and homemade marmalade are delicious and exquisite. The Dutch pancakes as well. All natural and healthy. Smoothies were yummy too. I strongly recommend this B&B if you are in the area or even close by… The Matapalo Beach has that black volcanic and which make your feet feel like velvet. Beautiful breathtaking sunsets. Man we really want to come back to Costa Rica and stay at Jardin De Los Monos. You should too.

Since it was me who organized our trip in Costa Rica, I was particularly excited about this place. It surpassed all expectations! The spacious rooms with large beds and great shower, the beautiful pool and luxious garden, the delicious breakfast with an option of either the bread (secret recipe), the dutch pancake or the granola, and the hammocks for an extra relaxing time. But Jardín de Los Monos is so much more! After a 3 minute walk you're at the beach. No one in sight, the forest goes right up to the sand and the sea, although worthy of much respect, welcomes you with warm water. Both in the property and the surroundings there's sloths, monkeys, squirrels, frogs, iguanas and many birds. There are restaurants nearby, some walking distance and also a supermarket less than 1km away. We had spent 10 days doing tours and activities so we just enjoyed the surroundings but there's a lot to do, in 30mn or less you can be visiting a natural park or going on ziplines. There's also surf lessons and kayaks available just around the corner. But I leave the best for last: our hosts! Lettika and Gijs built this place with love and full of details. It's everywhere: from decorative details to how breakfast is served but mostly on how they make you feel welcomed. We loved staying at Jardín de Los Monos and we'll treasure it in our memory.

B&B Jardin de los Monos is an incredible place to stay. Located 2 minutes (walking) from the beach, a small grocery store and a restaurant, the location is perfect. The property itself is very-well designed. We were lucky enough to stay in the room with the balcony and the bathtub overlooking the pool and the forest, and it was one of the most comfortable stays we've ever had. Overhead, the monkeys traverse the forest with a zipline created just for their safe passage. We had daily sloth and macaw sightings as well. Lettika and her husband are great hosts - personable, informative, and available. It was very convenient to have a delicious breakfast each day, made to order. We had to change our reservation twice, and Lettika was responsive and helpful each time. We highly recommend B&B Jardin de los Monos for your Playa Matapalo stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the garden of the Monkeys. Letikka was a good hostess and communicated well with us before and during our stay. They have built a real nice compound with a beautiful pool that includes a swim up bar. The interiors are well designed and up to date w large bath and showers, including a frig. Beds are very comfortable. The breakfast consists of eggs, fruit and either pancakes or home made breads. The location is close ( 1/4 mi) to the beach, and has local monkeys and sloths hanging around. This a good home base for visiting Manuel Antonio Park, Domenical vicinity and the lovely Nayuaca waterfalls.
