Huttopia Saumur

What a great site! Right on the side of the river. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. They managed to get us two pitches next to each other in the sunshine ☀️. 2 pools, one indoor and one outdoor. Defo recommend this one for families, couples or just on your own. Very peaceful ☺️ xxx

Cleanliness let down an otherwise lovely campsite in a good location. Staff really didn't care. We pointed out human poo (from a toddler) on the patio of the pool to staff and the next day it was still there. Contacted the campsite after visiting to complain about the cleanliness of the site and they were indifferent.

Just booked this for next month. Did not reilise they had added a 20 Euro booking fee until after I'd paid. My fault for not checking, but very steep, and I would of not booked here had I reilised. Oh well, hopefully it's worth the 2 nights!

A fantastic site in a rural wooded location, only a few miles from Saumer. Great pitches, very clean swimming pool. Toilets and shower rooms were exceptionally clean. The whole site is so natural with trees and views, very helpful staff and we will certainly return and recommend

We stayed for one night. After having stayed on many other places along the Loire, this was by far the most expensive (53€ per night vs. 20-25) and one of the less maintained ones. The place looks nice, but contrary to its self-given image was slightly neglected (no flowers, no watering for the rather dry plants around). The facilities were ok, but rather few for the amount of people (6 showers); in the evening, I waited for a shower and later for a free sink. Annoying, but not the camping‘s fault: There was a techno beat resounding from the river valley all day and all night long. Giving itself an ecological touch, pony riding doesn’t sound a responsible activity, especially at 40 degrees. Alltogether: Ok, but I wouldn‘t go there again.

Shop has no essential items... Pizza/restaurant shut until further notice, we were not informed before travel and had been relying on this especially on our first night after 9 hours travelling. We had no provisions and last minute had to navigate the local town to buy food....quite stressful after a long day. River side camping pitch is not as picture, actually not riverside at all....just a view. When we checked in we were told to take any pitch other than the premium one we had booked and paid for !!!! The walk/cycle track to the loire valley is sign posted but not actually ready to use as still over grown. Very disappointing, our first visit to France and hutopia....we are moving along the valley and have pre booked another hutopia site near chambord let's hope this one is better and not as disappointing!!!! Below are pictures of the bar and restaurant not stocked or staffed and unlikely to open soon or during our stay, according to the check in/empty essential shop staff ...who by the way actually tried to charge me more for the one item i bought than it said on the shelf price!!!!!! And its a saturday night in April prime tourist season!!!!! 9.15pm .
