Hotel Faranda Los Tilos, Ascend Hotel Collection

The only good thing about this hotel is that it is near a bus stop that only costs .80 E to get to town. Other then that, the breakfast is practically non existant, good luck finding a glass of orange juice and I couldnt find any sugar for my coffee. I skipped their sorry pastries and hauled out something I had purchased the day before to eat instead. The staff is surly- the whole lot should really get out of the hotel business. Judging from the breakfast, we forgoed our prepaid dinner and had pizza and beer in town.

The hotel is set on the outskirts of Santiago, a bus right to the centre leaves almost outside the hotel every 20 minutes and costs €1. Small commercial centre, cafe (not brilliant) and small supermarket in the vicinity little else. A small grassy area with tennis courts used by locals. We parked in a little car parking area below the hotel. It's quite a steep slope up. Both the area and the hotel from the front don't give you much confidence in what you are about to receive. Both look run down, loads of graffiti on the local commercial centre and units closed, rubbish and graffiti round the hotel area , long grass and weeds surrounding the hotel. Took absolutely ages for someone to come to reception to check us in although later he was extremely helpful in telling us how to get to Santiago centre. Twin room OK, good size but a bit dark and gloomy outlook. Fridge with two bottles of water in (were they free or not?). Bathroom good size but chipped tiles, worn bath, hot/warm water coming from both taps on basin, clean towels. Large TV and Wi-fi, neither used. The whole hotel felt 'dead' and 'gloomy' maybe because it was out of high season. That feeling continued through breakfast which ostensibly was a buffet. Very little choice, only one other person in the dining room, server not particularly friendly, made us coffee and that was about it. For one night it was adequate but I wouldn't want to stay there any longer.

This hotel is located outside the center of Santiago de Compostela. It is old, basic with management that treats their employees terribly. The room I was given had a horrible diesel oil smell. When I questioned this the manager on duty started yelling at the clerk on duty . He never spoke to me . I wanted my room changed but that was not happening. The clerk smiled nicely and gave me a cup of tea and said at least they gave me free tea....The elevator was old and only one was working. From the maids to the employees in the restaurant ,the clerks on duty everyone seemed overworked and not treated well. The room was so basic , the bed had no mattress pad and the towels threadbare. Don't waste your money. This hotel is not a 4 star hotel-doesn't deserve 1 star. Location is also not convenient for visiting the center of Santiago de Compostela. You need to use a taxi or take a bus. 't

It was absolutely terrible. Everything is ugly and old, the food and the service is as terrible as the aspect of the hotel. Even the coffee machine was broken and of course there is nothing around the hotel. The toilets next to the reception were dirty. It has 4 stars, but it deserves 0 stars. The place looks like a highway motel. It was one of the worst experiences I had in a hotel. Don't go there

Sono stata due giorni ospite di questo hotel e meno male sono stati solo due. Si fregia di 4 stelle quando ne vale appena 2. Maleodorante, poco servizio, tavoli con tovaglia di carta, buffet scarso e pessimo tanto a colazione che a cena. Bagno e camera no comment.... dicono che è in ristrutturazione ma forse era meglio se lo riaprivano una volta ristrutturato non si possono ospitare le persone con così pochi servizi.

Horrible!!! Impresentable, esta en obras. No tiene wifi en las habitaciones Pileta baño no descarga, ducha desborda, no hay repisa en el baño, no hay perchas en placard Dice 4 estrellas..... una burla a la inteligencia humana Creo que Santiago el apóstol, vivía en mejores condiciones
