Hotel is far from a 4 star !!! I stayed here with my sons, food is vile the selection is rubbish, the pool is disgusting and the small pool was actually green when I visited! Staff barely speak English, they don’t fix water leaking from a light bulb just turn the light off and put a towel down? Sun loungers were more or less all faulty. Kids entertainment was always shut! And they only seem to play Spanish games as entertainment at night time. Id never return to this hotel even if it was free of charge !!

just returned from a 4 night stay that i really enjoyed. i found the whole hotel to be spotlessly clean throughout. the reception staff were excellent and had me booked in with all the information i needed within minutes. i had a great room on the 3rd floor that i was more than pleased with. i was all inclusive so visited the bar this area was also spotless usually staffed by a minimum of 3 people 2 guys and a young lady and they were great very efficient chatty and courteous. all in all i had a great break at a very good price so thank you all at hotel mercury.

it is vile basically its old tired and the foods crap, to noisy when people book in at 3am , i wished i had read the reviews before i booked , we arrived on the monday and i wanted to come home the next day , i just think we got what we paid for ,never again

We arrived early this morning and I can only say the fear that came through me with my daughter by my side as we walked up to this apparent 4 star hotel!!! Walking in just made my fear worse as we made our way to reception with two male night porter who looked like they had come from a sketch at faulty towers! They were far from welcoming! We were given our room and entered the loft which had a half eaten pot noodle still in it, and a smashed window. Optimistic as I am I thought this place can’t get any worse…. No hold on we entered our 1970 prison cell!! The rooms are VILE decor wise there has been no updating this room or its furniture I assume since the day it originally opened!! The rooms are filthy and disgusting as your see from photos and the pleasure of someone’s eyelashes on the floor!! The beds are so hard you may as well get your kip the next day on the sun beds as you won’t get much on these! The bathroom is so disgusting I burst into tears!! THIS IS FAR FROM A 4 STAR HOTEL YOUR NOT EVEN A 2 STAR! Also the wifi code doesn’t work! I feel cheated out my hard earned money which I wanted a relaxing, enjoyable 4STAR HOTEL stay with my child instead! We have been to many 3/4 star hotels during the years and I am just in shock over this hotel!! I will be fighting for my money back!! I obviously went to reception to complain and asked for a better room to be told I had one of the best already I dread to think what the others are like here! I have reached out to the hotel straight away and the travel company LOVEHOLIDAYS ( I wouldn’t book through them again either) and no one is will to assist with helping. Honestly I cannot stress enough to anyone reading don’t book here!!!

Just returned from this hotel worse holiday I have ever experienced, food was served barley cooked, the same food most breakfast dinner and tea, rooms and decor from 1980s. Dinning area floods when rains and rather cleaning standards are absolutely shocking in every aspect staff are just rude and clearly shouldn't be working in hospitality no clean sheet at all the original ly entertaient is the same dj every night playing same songs broken sunbeds tables are supposed be white but are that dirty practically black no pool.clean done paid for all inclusive e expecting a standard of 4 star. A hostel is better than this place unless you want yo have the worse holiday possible avoid at all cost

Week away with the other half. Full board not big on alcohol did us just fine. Rooms: The rooms on first impression was just your basic bedroom toilet room, needs a good makeover overall it's clean and tidy every day by the cleaners when you wanted them to if not the do not disturb sign out for them. Like I said needs a good makeover but then what I say it's only a bed and you don't spend your time on holiday in a room. Reception area: The area is pretty modern and clean all round, it's nice walking up the stairs from the entrance, find that the night reception staff are a little slow and don't really want to interact with you, blame them for working nights 😅 I find the day staff receptionist helpful. Pool: Pool area was ok-ish a little dirty here and there most of the sunbed don't recline due to half/most of them being broken, plenty of people around and kids enjoying themselves in the sun. Dinner hall: Dinner hall was pretty clean and tidy each time going down there for something to eat, to be honest there was plenty to pick from something different each day apart from breakfast that was pretty much the same each morning, but the food was good, but I know people complaining about the food probably lived off chips, loads of Spanish related food of course, so can't really complain about it trying something new like me. Day to day: Hotel was in a great location across the road was the beach 5 minute walk. Plenty of shops little restaurant around for food and drinks, daily market on the door step Sunday and Tuesday, Train station just outside the hotel into Barcelona location was great. Overall it isn't a 4* hotel more pushing a 3* Apart from the reviews it wasn't a bad hotel I've had worse I've had a lot better. Make the most of it and enjoy the little things. Hotel gets a lot of poor reviews but for the price it is ok. The beds are the most uncomfortable ever and the food is bad. But everything else is fine. The staff were fine with us, the pool is nice, the location is excellent literally next to the train station. It is a quiet resort, thats what you are booking and thats what you get. We enjoyed it.

My expectations were very low after reading so many bad reviews,i was in fact dreading it a bit,I came by myself for just 4 nights,it’s not expensive to come here so i think people should lower their expectations,if you want fridges,kettles etc pay more money and go elsewhere,my room was basic yes but clean and bright and serviced daily,its true there are very many broken sunbeds,but the pool area was quiet so enough to go around,the bar staff are pleasant and helpful with a couple a bit snappy, the drink selection is good,the food is standard all inclusive,i never had breakfast but always found enough choice at lunch and dinner,dinning area clean,staff work hard,all in all i enjoyed my time here yes the weather was great,and its not the height of season,but come a bit more open minded not looking to criticise absolutely everything and you might be pleasantly surprised

DISGUSTING AND DISAPPOINTED. I GIVE THIS 0 STARS IF I COULD. Rooms are dirty, bathroom is dirty with hair in the bathtub. Food is horrible and bland. Staff refuse to clean the room even when we told them it wasn’t cleaned in the morning. Do not come here!!!

***I had a pair of earnings stolen when the room got cleaned***. They're gold plated and looked like they're worth more than they are. The one day i decided not to wear them, they went missing in the time the cleaners were cleaning. I told reception, but they were completely uninterested & said "the girls don't steal things, youve probably misplaced them." This was the same female receptionist that also told me "no rooms have fridges" and when I explained to her that my mother and sisters room had a fridge, she then said "no rooms have fridges, we will bin them when they leave as we don't have fridges anymore". Even though the website says the rooms come with fridges.. Yet she told me the website does not say that. We came with family, so used 3 rooms in total. 2 of the rooms were OK, very basic but fairly clean and had a fridge. our room however, had a toilet that was brown and continuously filled up, meaning we couldnt use it as it wouldn't flush. Tiles hanging off the wall. Broken lamps (one actually fell on my sons head dueing the night). Dirty bathrooms, nails sticking out in the wardrobe & full of cobwebs. And no fridge. Also not kettle & no table on the balcony. Very old tired rooms, that really need updating. There was a pair of pants in 1bed on the first night. We've all also been bitten multiple times each night.. bed bugs?? Drinks- depends who serves you to what you get given. One day, a vodka slush is served in a pint glass, following day its in a half pint glass yet the same price! (we were full board, so paid for all drinks). Some bar staff Very rude, however a couple were lovely. Life guard sits in a hut all day, paying no attention. On 2 occasions, a child was almost drowning and he was completely oblivious. Food-couple of nice things each night, but most of it was just ok at best. Breakfast was the same every morning. Restaurant staff were all fantastic. Baby pool was dirty. Pool toilets, only 1 door locks the others don't. Lifts- no sensors on doors. On 2 occasions they almost closed on my child! I mean, the hotel is cheap enough.. however I wouldn't return based on the fact they have a cleaner who is a thief, a receptionist who is a liar, it's unsafe for children & you can pay more for a room (family room) and end up with the worst room out of 3.

A truthful review based on my experience . Reception area looks lovely as does communal areas , but room was very dated and very dark , needed more light . Couldn’t allow natural light to get when getting ready due to privacy . Room was cleaned daily and supplies topped up , shower gel toilet roll etc . Was here all inclusive , neither of us are fussy so we can crack on regardless , however the food on offer was the worse I’ve known , I wish I didn’t have to say that . We was here for a week and did eat out a couple of tomes , and like I say we are none fussy , but there wasn’t much choice , lots of complaints about the food from other guests with some being unable to consume anything . No snacks available not sure how you get ice cream etc . The drinks are very good however with a good selection on offer . The location is excellent , the beach is a stone throw away , train station directly opposite if you want to visit Barcelona . First time ever I’ve had a wrist band cut off at check out so be mindful if you have a late pick up . There are plenty of sun loungers never had a problem getting one however so many of them broken .No entertainment was on , just the DJ playing the same songs every evening . Not a lot for kids to do , no. clubs etc . The pool is nice and they do have a life guard on duty . I wouldn’t come here again it wasn’t good , but it was ok for a cheap budget holiday .

Having read the reviews I was a bit apprehensive about this hotel....but it proves don't believe everything you read....experience it for yourselves Room basic but clean Food good, could always find something to eat Plenty of sunbeds Reception staff polite Overall had a pleasant stay Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!!!!

What a disappointment. We came here with an open mind from reading the reviews AFTER booking. Unfortunately every bad thing that has been stated is 100% true. We had our rooms changed on arrival without asking us, this moved us down floors leaving us with a wonderful view of the bins. The rooms are very basic, no fridge or kettle in them, air con does not work in our room. The balcony doors do not lock which is quite worrying on lower floors especially. Onto the food. If an establishment has to provide microwaves to warm up the food then you know you’re in trouble. Everything is clap cold & a lot looks like it’s just been stuck under a heat lamp to cook so still looks like it’s raw. I’ve eaten once in the restaurant here as have another person in the group, we have had very upset stomachs since. There’s a huge queue to get into the restaurant as everyone gets checked off 1 by 1 which makes for colder food. Staff in general are helpful but not very bilingual so freshen up on your Spanish or you will struggle. In general they do a great job until you go into the 1 place you expect folk to be happy in. The bar staff are terrible!! Very rude & confrontational for absolutely no reason. We’ve witnessed a staff member launching chairs about at the end of the night also. I would suggest as a person who worked in this trade that these people work less hours so they aren’t ruining peoples nights in the 11th hour with their bad tempers & poor customer service. They massively let the team down. Overall this is not a 4* hotel, 2-3 at the absolute most so not worth the money you pay. Book with all this in mind to avoid disappointment.

After reading all the reviews, we nearly cancelled this holiday. However, after careful consideration, we still decided to go. In our family. There are six children aged between 18 and 5. We also have two children with autism. When we arrived the hotel was clean and welcoming. The lady behind the reception was very helpful. We paid for full board. We did enquire about upgrading to all-inclusive however this was quite expensive and we definitely made the right decision as we we didn't feel like we needed it by the end of the holiday. The rooms were large and clean. We had two rooms each had a double bed and two single beds. The fridges in both rooms work perfectly. And we bought drinks from Lidl's which is about a 15-minute walk for the duration of our holiday. The rooms were cleaned daily and the towels were cleaned and replaced once during our stay of 6 days. The food I found was very good. There was different choice everyday. For the children, there was always a choice of pasta and pizza and chips alongside any other foods. There was a chef in the dining room cooking foods fresh everyday. Some days it was chicken. Some steak sometimes fish and on one occasion, turkey Carvery. There was always a huge choice of desserts, salads and ice creams which the children loved. The only downside I feel of the entire holiday was The pool. The children loved swimming in it. However the sides around the pool definitely needed cleaning. On one of the days my daughter wore a white bikini and from sitting on the side of the pool it was black. The hotel next door is owned by the same chain and we were able to access that pool and we went there most days instead as it was far better maintained. That being said, it's not the worst pool I've ever been to. It's just not the standards of some four-star hotels in Spain We have visited prior. There were activities all day by the pool including aqua aerobics, darts, bingo and kids drawing activities. The staff were all very friendly and spoke good English which was a bonus as some of the reviews stated that there was a language barrier with some staff. The beach was beautiful. And the sea was very warm. We spent lots of time there. In the evenings there was always lots of stalls and shops and we spent most of our time wondering and finding new places to purchase ice cream or churros. In all I would say it was a successful and happy holiday. I would have scored the review higher if the pool had been cleaner. We probably would return. (We stayed 27th August 2024 for 6 nights). I would honestly say, if you were brought up on pontins standard UK holidays, you'll love it! :)
