Hotel Club Torre Marino

Let’s not hide it, I’ve fallen in love with the place, so let’s dive into the reasons: 1) the owners – Maurizio and Michele are easy-going and highly supportive (we’d forgotten the medication, but the following morning, I was driven to the local pharmacy and immediately driven back (heart medication, so the speed really plays the role)); apart from that, we’ve always felt welcome with any demands (wheelchair and mobility issues), and everything was sorted out to our satisfaction; 2) the staff – from the day one, everybody was smiling, greeting and chitchatting (given the limits of my Italian); 3) the environment – the whole area has a small village feeling – seeing the people passing by, smiling and starting occasional small talks – I’ve had a lot of chitchats and fun with staff and other guests; besides, the garden is exquisitely designed and well-preserved; 4) the beach – private, secluded and equipped – what to want more? Actually, the beach bar offers the more; 5) the transport to Tropea – three times a day with the price of only €9, it is a day-trip to try – the local cathedral has unexploded bombs inside (for real) – and you don’t have to worry to get some prosecco; however, the local transportation does not exist, so you depend on the hotel transfer, BUT you are driven if you are the only person – my case, no complaints and even nice and informative conversation; 6) languages – my Italian is poor, so it is a great help that German and English are spoken; Warnings: 1) water – it is drinkable, but it is salty (not dangerous, just unpleasant); the case I have come across in several places across the Mediterranean, so count on buying some bottled one; 2) speed – the time is sometimes metaphorical – 5 minutes becomes an hour, a day tomorrow; it’s like 40°C, so I wouldn’t be running around as well; the speed limits and road signs are also metaphorical – be careful when leaving the hotel premises; 3) salt and sand – they are everywhere and leave their traces, so give up on the highly polished surfaces – the sea is about 50 metres away at most; however, it does NOT mean that the rooms are not clean – the maids clean them and replace towels every day; To sum it up, I shy away from the standardised experience, so I look for the small unique things and the hotel really offers them galore. So, if you are into discovering and diving into the experience, don’t hesitate. Stay gold, gentlemen; stay gold!

Nice hotel with really good customer service. There is a minibus service every day to Tropea for extra charge. 15 min walk to the nearest store. For a hot august holiday, it was good that this hotel is on the beach. For extra charge there is also full or half board which we also took. Every evening there is evening program at the beach bar. We felt warmly welcomed in Torre Marino.

Ho alloggiato presso questa struttura la settimana di Ferragosto con mio figlio di 5 anni, dopo aver prenotato tramite agenzia (ed è forse la cosa più grave questa tra tutte): arrivando non troviamo nessuno ad accoglierci, ed è anche estremamente difficile capire dove si trovi la reception ( al terzo piano, non si è mai visto...) che alle 9.30 del mattino era comunque chiusa. La struttura appare fin da subito datata, ma questo non avrebbe creato nessun disagio; se non fosse che all'interno della stanza era presente un piatto doccia senza ne' box doccia ne' tenda, muffa su tutte le pareti della stanza, formiche lungo tutto il perimetro, tv totalmente non funzionante e l'elettricità che se ne andava ogni 15 minuti a cadenza regolare, non permettendo di poter utilizzare quindi il climatizzatore. Va aggiunto poi che ogni settimana dei mesi di alta stagione l'intera struttura è COMPLETAMENTE monopolizzata da gruppi di 60/70 persone napoletane che, con fare partenopeo, lasciano ben poca tranquillità agli altri ospiti dell'hotel. Alla loro presenza, infatti, dipende tutta l'organizzazione della giornata: l'orario dei pasti non è assolutamente rispettato, l'unica sala interna con un minimo di aereazione è riservata a loro, se il gruppo non è seduto al tavolo il pranzo o la cena non inizia ad essere servito. Per quanto riguarda il cibo e il servizio, si aggiungono alle note dolenti di questa esperienza: colazione composta solo da latte/caffè, UNA torta, brioche vuote con la possibilità di aggiungere solo la marmellata, se siete fortunati un paio di giorni trovate anche la crema di nocciole e anche tutto ciò appena descritto, se quella mattina Maurizio si sveglia male la maleducazione e l'assenza di cibo sarà ciò che avrete come inizio giornata. Pranzo e cena vengono fatti "scegliere" con un foglio: la sceltà sarà o tra 2 primi e 1 secondo, o viceversa, il dolce inesistente per 7 giorni e la frutta solo per i veri temerari che staranno seduti al tavolo fino alle 15 al pranzo o le 22 per la cena. Animazione e giochi totalmente inesistente, non spendo parole negative per le due ragazze presenti perchè mi facevano molta tenerezza, così come per tutti i camerieri che erano anche i chiudi ombrelloni e presenti ad OGNI servizio TUTTI i giorni, senza un briciolo di esperienza. Concludo informando che non è presente un bagnino ne per la piscina ne per la spiaggia, quest'ultima è davvero l'unica chicca di tutto questo orrore: la posizione e il mare infatti sono spettacolari, i tramonti da togliere il fiato. Un vero peccato gestire una struttura valutata 3 stelle che personalmente ritengo dovrebbe essere chiusa totalmente al giorno d'oggi.

Kleine Zimmer mit vielen Ameisen, Hotelverantwortliche mit viel Desinteresse. Alte und laute Klimaanlage. Badezimmer Katastrophal zum spülen hatten wir 15 Tage einen Eimer. Dusche war nur zur Hälfte vorhanden. Durchbrause musste ich selber reparieren. Kalk und Schimmel soweit das Auge reicht

Absolut Klasse Hotel für 3 Sterne...top Lage und sehr familiär! Essen ist sehr gut und man wird definitiv satt! Das beste daran ist aber Michele mit seinem Team...mehr Erholung geht nicht Dank Ihnen! Zu allererst ein dickes Dankeschön an das ganze Personal! Ich war mit meiner Mum für eine kleine Auszeit eine Woche in der Unterkunft. Schon beim Check In wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen und erfreuten uns an der wunderschönen Anlage die auch direkten Zugang zum Strand und Meer hat. Da ich selber Serviceleiterin in einem Restaurant in Berlin bin möchte ich ganz doll den tollen Service und das Essen loben, da ich den direkten Vergleich dazu habe. Morgens kann man sich am Buffet bedienen und bekommt Mittags und Abends immer 4 Gänge. Falls es einen Mal nicht zu sagte hat man direkt etwas anderes bekommen (man hatte immer die Auswahl zwischen 2 Gerichten). Abends bekommt man den perfekten Sonnenuntergang im Meer zu sehen und kann den Tag mit den anderen Gäste an der Bar, mit Wellenrauschen, ausklingen lassen. Ihr seid so großartig alle das wir uns mit anderen Gästen, die auch schon öfter kommen, für nächstes Jahr direkt wieder verabredet haben! Wir wünschen euch nur das Beste!
