The good: very comfortable bed, nice linens, the gardens part of the property are pretty, they serve Peet’s coffee in the morning. There’s lots of hot water, very convenient for Pasatiempo golfcourse community. It’s sparkling clean! The not so good: rooms are astonishingly bare bones - no rugs, no comfortable chairs to sit in, no closet, shutters on windows were broken, screens on windows had rips, land beyond gardens is unkempt/run down, parking lots are in desperate need of resurfacing, it’s right off HWY 17 so if you’re not on the garden side it’s noisy, one side of bed has no nightstand or lamp/outlets. No bathtub (yeah, l know, everyone is taking out their tubs.. sigh). It’s a souped up 1960’s old motor lodge. IMO it’s very expensive (like $350/night??? Wow) for what you get. This could be an absolute gem of a hotel. It’s trying hard. But it sadly misses the mark. Drive into town instead.
