Hotel Pinxo

We booked via email, directly with the hotel, a 3 days stay at a very reasonable price for the time of the year and I must say we got more than expected! A large room with comfortable beds, toilet with a bidet (I'm Italian and my wife Japanese so we really miss our bidet when abroad!) ,wifi worked well (for the joy of our teenage son) and food was really nice, with plenty of choice from the half board menu. The night we arrived all the street around the hotel were closed to the traffic because of a concert in the nearby main square and I somehow reached the hotel but couldn't find my way out; the owner, Giuseppe, was fantastic helping me find my way to the car park, showing empathy and concern. Despite being a little late for dinner the staff was really warm and understanding. It's a family owned business and for those 3 days, with simplicity and no frills, we felt part of the family. The staff doesn't speak English and I would say that was the bonus, because making the effort to communicate with some simple words we knew in Spanish and the few words of English Claudia, the niece of the owner, knew, made the experience more genuine and fulfilling. By the way, the hotel has hired a person that speaks English very well because the emails I received were very well written in English and when I called a lady spoke to me fluently on the phone. I really recommend this hotel to those who travel with their heart open and want to live a true Catalan experience, so rare in our aseptic globalized world.

Hemos pasado dos noches puesto que por Mapfre nos dieron un 2x1. Por donde empezar: Positivo que nos cambiaron la habitación por una con ducha, esto si , sin mampara ni siquiera cortina. El menú de los mediodías bueno y el personal muy amable. Negativo: no es un 3 estrellas como mucho Honda o Pensión. Muebles viejos, camas horribles y colchones incómodos. Baño con florecido a las paredes, cadena wc que no va bien. Almorzar incluido: un bocadillo frío(atún no entra, tortilla tampoco y nada de caliente) o una pasta, o tostadas y un café, ya está! Si quieres algo más a pagar, lo encuentro ridículo. POR SUPUESTO NO VOLVERÉ

lo único bueno que le he visto al hotel la ubicación nada más,personal no amable,una habitación bastante fea y sin ninguna vista tenía que mirar a un patio de luz muy feo,no tenía tapón para la bañera,habitación no muy limpia y tema aire el dueño no nos dejó el mando y nos lo dejó toda la noche encendido que hacía una calor que te morias y nos dijo que por ley había que ponerlo a 21,de chiste.Bueno una experiencia fatalitica no lo recomiendo para nada y en el lavabo un agujero en el techo de ventilación sin tapar que hacia un frío llevaros un calefactor.
