My daughter and I spent one night here recently. It was lovely, clean, and charming. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a daily happy hour with delicious wine and snacks; and the morning there is complimentary coffee. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back.

I come to Santa Barbara often, and this turned out to be my favorite place to stay. Charming, quiet, safe spot near the downtown area, and the staff were kind and attentive. My only gripes were just a couple of minor things: sheets were a little rough, cookies served were cheap store bought. Given how lovely this place turned out to be, I’d love to see those things get as much thought as everything else.

Beautiful little bed and breakfast! You can't beat the location, just one block from State Street and countless restaurants and retail shops. The courtyard is a great addition. There are many historic hotels in downtown Santa Barbara and I've found them to be quite hit and miss. Knowing that, I wasn't fazed when the room was a little muggy. I opened the windows and it aired out just fine. This place is a hit!

We stayed in a room with a garden view and had an afternoon snack in the garden. It was wonderful! Thanks to Michael Green for arranging this! Beautiful location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, close to shopping and restaurants but not so close to the noise and crowds. Will stay again.

The room was incredibly spacious and luxurious. I was greeted with mimosas and the fridge was stocked with N/A bevs and healthy snacks. Staff was incredibly helpful, even guiding me around town for a night out. Wonderful experience and I will certainly be returning!

We booked Upham at the last minute for our weekend getaway, not knowing what to expect. But to my surprise, the hotel was an oasis in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara. The hotel had individual cottages with rooms all newly renovated, clean, quiet, and cozy, and yet nestled in the middle of all the action. We were able to conveniently walk to all shops & restaurants in downtown. Most importantly, the Hotel Manager Michael and the Front Desk Leticia greeted us with warm smiles, and were very helpful and friendly, and assisted with our every needs. All in all, a hidden gem, 5-Star Stay. We'll be back soon! JW Palos Verdes

Had a great 4 days here. Had to book last minute after we were let down by another hotel and so glad we chose the Upham. Room was spacious and perfectly prepared. Hotel grounds amazing. Happy hour a lovely surprise. Staff attentive and helpful. Loved it.

Our stay at the Upham Hotel was absolutely fabulous! We were here on business but also spent time enjoying Santa Barbara and the area around it. Our room was large, well appointed, and comfortable. The front desk staff helped us with directions as well as recommendations for meals and sights to see. Leticia was particularly helpful and knowledgeable. There is a lovely wine reception every evening. We spent time sitting in the gardens just reading and enjoying the beautiful weather. It is a great place for relaxation, rejuvenation, and reflection. The Upham is an historic inn dating from the 1800s. Cottages are beautiful and there is ample room for meetings and get-togethers. We will be back!

Arrived at The Upham Sunday late afternoon just in time for their Happy Hour. Enjoyed glass of red wine in the sunroom. We stayed in The Hibiscus cottage. Lovely spacious room with 2 queens. Enjoyed coffee from sunroom each morning. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights. Location is close to State Street and an easy walk to Harbor Pier. Will definitely comeback.
