Hotel la Santa Maria

The hotel rooms are bordered on one side by a main road with go-cart track and amusement park, on the side is a noisy bar "Nomad" which bangs around until well after midnight, and a noisy pedestrian zone, in which often late evening "buzzed" visitors stroll. Email conversation was impossible -- all my emails bounced back with "addresee unknown" error. The breakfast "maitre" mercilessly kicked us and everyone present out of the dining room at 10 o'clock. There was also no alternative, because going outside with food was not allowed. Breakfast was mostly canned food. The receptionists were incompetent and did not know about any noise. The indoor pool made a somewhat run down impression, that's all I will say about it. Outside it was probably too cold for us (and for almost all bathers) at the end of October. If you want to have fun until three in the morning then this hotel is suitable. Otherwise it is a sleep killer in the party mile of the bed castles. Of course, the staff can't help that. But the reception was either incompetent or explained to be able to do little, because TUI has rented everything. In the center of the "hotel place" -- the noise was accordingly very disturbing. There was no refrigerator or hot water heater in the room. There was a charge for the safe. The staff was smilingly dismissive to directly determining unfriendly (Frühstucks kicked out at 10 o'clock sharp). But cheap! We will certainly never go to this hotel again! Have thought at short notice to move out and rent an apartment in a quieter area.

We arrived in October and we’re extremely lucky with the weather so thoroughly enjoyed the lovely pool area plenty of sunbeds and really clean. However the pool bar didn’t have much left to offer as the season is coming to an end one choice of awful beer. Not serving any pool snacks at all not even crisps!! If you are open then you need to be open not half closed!! Breakfast was nice lots of options one waiter in particular was rude and clearly didn’t want to be there, we found this with several of the staff there was the odd friendly one. The rooms are very nice always clean the cleaning staff come in almost everyday you will know this as you will be woken by then very early every morning they do however do a lovely job. There is NO fridge or kettle in the room so if you like your drinks warm then you’ll be fine! Aircon is good showers lovely and beds comfy. Was really lovely to see one other English family at this hotel. Great location head over to the sportsman bar across the road for food and a good choice of drinks.

I am currently at this Hotel, and have been very pleased with my choice. The Hotel staff are all very nice, not a grumpy face in sight ! The rooms are comfortable, he pool area and snack bar lovely, everything kept nice and clean. The food surprised me as was much better than I expected both breakfasts and dinners had plenty to offer , everything was hot as it should be and very nice salads. The location is perfect with lots around, short walk to the lovely beach and plenty places for lunches etc

Fabulous hotel for the price I paid. Room (515) basic but spotlessly clean, balcony overlooked the go karts and play area.l but they stop around midnight so noise not a problem for me. Really close to all the attractions of Cala Millor, transfer time from Palma Park about an hour. Included breakfast was fab with lots of choice. Room fully air conditioned. I would stay again 4*

We stayed at hotel la Santa Maria from the dates of 14th of June until the 22nd. This review is by a couple who stayed half board. Firstly the hotel. The hotel was great, location couldn’t get any better, right on the strip, 3 min walk to the beach ( the beach is beautiful) just perfect location for everything that we wanted in our stay. The hotel was lovely. Cleanliness - wow! So impressed, the cleaners were in our room every day to clean except one day. In our 9 days here. Always new towels, fresh bedding , mopped and sweaped, tidy, clean bathroom. Was so impressed. The hotel itself was also so clean, restaurant was clean. The pool was clean except you could see build up on some areas. The room- we had a room for two of us. Great size, comfy bed, good room facilities . Bathroom was very modern and spotless. Balcony was also a good size. My only thing was there wasn’t a fridge or a kettle. We didn’t want a kettle or need one . But we need a fridge even just a tiny one for drinks especially because of the heat. Also in our wordrobe in the draws there was a bit of a damp smell not sure what it was. The food- we stayed half board, breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was okay, fresh fruit, meats, pastries , and some hot food but we didn’t really go for any of that. Also pancakes on 3 of the days and churros one day. Dinner- dinner was also again okay, we always found something to eat but the selection was very very little, there was also some form of potato( chips, potato slices, wedges ) pasta and pizza , also salad selection was great and always fresh. But what let the hotel down was the labels. Food was not labelled , so therefore we couldn’t tell what it was, I think this is a big concern for people with alergys. What made it worse was if we ever wanted to know what something was we would ask the chef and they spoke absolutely no English whatsoever so we couldn’t even find out that way. This needs to be addressed. Deserts were terrible .if you can even call them deserts. The hotel- location was just perfect , there was one big pool and a smaller bit too. Very good size for the hotel. There was a pool bar which was very reasonable price, indoor pool but this wasn’t open, a luggage room, we didn’t struggle with sun beds . Also in addition to this we was the only English people on the hotel. I am geussing it’s the area as outside too most people are German , the hotel was full of German people and the first language was German. But this wasn’t just the hotel the whole area was the same.

Stayed here with my husband, daughter and her partner, 2 separate rooms next door to each other on the 3rd floor, rooms clean airy modern, lovely comfy beds(although a bit noisy just turning over, daughter said hers was the same) really lovely pillows and summer duvet, cleaner came everyday to clean and give clean towels, pool area nice plenty of beds, pool bar could of had more to offer, including icecreams, could of been because it was May though but they were still needed as it was still very hot for us, indoor pool nice, hot tub was cold and only half of it worked, sauna wasn't working, we paid 10 euro each a few nights for the buffet dinner, really nice with lots of choice, well worth the money as was breakfast for 7 euro, reception and foyer lovely and clean, the staff were all friendly and welcoming especially miguel. Have to say we were the only English there the rest were German and we couldn't get a smile out of any of them 🙂
