Oldest Town of Cape Cod In The Historic District

Overall, for the price, this was a good stay. The good: Price, friendly owner, clean house, dogs allowed. The bad:There were some parts that were a little much, but I like to think they were one-off situations. In any case, our check-in time was Friday at 4, but we weren’t permitted to enter until 5:30 because of electrical issues. Our checkout time was Monday at 10:00 am, but we were awoken by an electrician at 8 am, and the owner and electrician were in the house until we left. It felt like we were being babysat as we were packing up and getting ready to say goodbye to each other. The lock was difficult to use and we often got locked out of the house. A lot of things in the house are locked — the AC temperatures, downloading apps on the tv (nothing crazy, I think it was just Hulu or something). A mouse ran across the kitchen counter one night, but we didn’t see it again once we hid any food in the fridge. Pests are unavoidable in an old cape house though. I hate giving tough reviews like this, especially when the owner was so nice, but I feel like for other people like us who might be going on their annual family vacation, it’s important to know what you’re staying at. Again, overall, we had a great time, that’s why I gave 4 stars.

Warm welcome to the Cape Ed was a lovely host. The house is very close to the Cape Cod Canal and Shawme-Crowell State Park, so a great location. Fantastic to have a full house with central a/c during hot summer months!

Great Stay in Sandwich The property has a great location and was very well kept up. We were out a lot at a conference but really enjoyed the property and the owner.
