After a long drive, we had a little difficulty at the front desk. The person added an additional $25 to our online reservations. I was too tired to argue and thought I would take it up the following morning. In the morning, the front desk person did not know what happened and would leave a note for the manager with our telephone number. She never called. I had confirmed our reservation the previous morning, and there was no room assigned to us. I am Hilton card holder. The room had floor tile loose, the television volume did not work so it was difficult to hear, the bathroom stayed hot, there was a walk-in shower, and the air condition was unable to keep the room cool, so it went on and off all night. On the up side, after two days of trying to talk with the manager, I was able to talk with her and she confirmed that a $25 incidental charge was added, but removed after we left. The pillows were wonderful. We are close to a number of restaurants. We are close to Aldi. The swimming pool is outside and was operational. Of course, the breakfast is excellent! They had warm cookies for our grand daughter at check in. Needless, to say the Holiday Inn Express had slipped a little in our previous excellent reviews.
