Hotel Mareo Dolomites

This was our second visit in 2025 to Hotel Mareo Dolomites. Both trips were for ski holidays with three children aged 8-14. The hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly and the food is fantastic- in fact I would rate the 4-course dinners as top London restaurant quality. The wine list is also extensive with a get selection of older vintages so the cellar is definitely worth exploring. Although the hotel is not next to the ski lifts, there is a handy shuttle bus to take you down in the morning and pick you up in the afternoon. The resort itself offers a wide variety of slopes for skiers of all levels and the hotel can assist with ski lessons. The owners, Filippo & Raffaele, can’t do enough to make you comfortable and kindly provided alternative meals for our 8 year old daughter when she didn’t like the choice of food on the menu. I would recommend the newer rooms over the larger but older family rooms if your children are old enough to sleep in a separate room. The spa and swimming pool is also great after a day’s skiing. We are already looking at dates to go back again!

Some friends recommended this hotel for a hiking trip we were planning in the Dolomites. They return year after year, and after staying there we can see why! The place is lovely and very comfortable. It is a family run operation, and everyone who works there is so gracious and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Food was terrific with lots of choices for breakfast and a beautiful salad/appetizer buffet layout at dinner followed by a full service, three course meal. Fillippo and Rafaella, the hosts, along with barman Remi and front desk hostess Elena could not have been more charming and accommodating. The feel of the place is a relaxed vibe in a calm, beautiful setting with plenty of outdoor adventure waiting at your doorstep. We especially enjoyed the spa facilities available in the afternoon/early evening, including a pool, 2 saunas, steam and jacuzzi. It was a great way to unwind after a day of vigorous hiking. Our only regret is that we did not stay long enough in this beautiful place. Hope to visit again someday!

We absolutely loved this hotel - amazing in every way. The family are all involved and care deeply about the guest experience. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The food is amazing - we opted for half board every night and could not have been happier with the delicious menus. The setting is breathtaking and we went on an incredible hike every day - the whole areas is stunning. We also hired eMTBs for a day and that was also fabulous. The pool and gym were a great bonus at the end of a long walking day. We would 100% recommend this amazing hotel and thank the family and staff for a wonderful week!

This charming, family run hotel is a perfect base for exploring this part of the Dolomites. It is elegant, understated, perfectly clean. The Clara family makes you feel as if you are a guest in their home. The food is exceptional and the bar and wine list extensive. Remy, the bartender can mix any drink you request and recommend excellent wine pairings. The wellness facilities are a welcome respite after a day of hiking, biking, skiing or any other of the myriad of activities in the area. If you want a guide for a via Ferrata or other outdoor activity , Fillipa can arrange it. One of my favorite hotel stays ever!

Exceptional stay and experience. I rarely write reviews unless something is truly fantastic, and this is. The location is perfect for exploring the Dolomiti ski zone and the town of San Vigilio is really nice. The host family is wonderful and does a great job of hosting guests. The breakfasts are amazing, a perfect way to start the day.

A great location on Kronplatz with excellent local food experience and great hospitality of entire Clara family and hotel team creates unforgettable winter vacation. Spa and outdoor pool surrounded by snow are a must to refresh yourself after hard skiing before a great dinner.
